Complications

February 2021 Newsletter

Exodus 1:12a “But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied.”

Life has a way of throwing complications at us each and every day. Some of those complications we expect and others come as a complete surprise.

The question isn’t if we will have these things come our way, the question is how will we respond? As we navigate our way in this increasingly complicated world, we do well to remember that God is not powerless to help.

As it was with God’s people in Egypt, so it will be with us. The more life throws at us, the more we can expect to see multiplication in our lives. God’s methods of working go cross-grain to what we would naturally expect. In fact, God shines brightest when the night is the darkest.

Updates

  • As we reported to you last month, on the 3rd of January a new church was planted in Lusaka, Zambia in an area called “Kabanana.” Currently, Covid restrictions in Zambia have been eased and churches are once again meeting. This has allowed the new church to settle, we are so grateful.

  • In Mozambique, church #15 was planted on the 7th of February. The launch was unexpectedly complicated as Covid restrictions were reimposed that day. The congregation, instead of meeting in their rented building, met in a local home. Restrictions are in place for the next month. Please pray for this new church as it has to deal with the reality of church planting during a pandemic.

  • Covid is surging in many nations in Africa currently. Malawi, where we have 7 churches, is in the middle of a new wave of infections. Due to the lack of proper facilities to treat infections, many are suffering and dying. In Burundi, where we’re experiencing an increase in infections as well, land borders have once again been closed and strict quarantine protocols are in place.

  • The Hope Center in Burundi will launch on the 17th of February. As we reported to you in last month’s newsletter, Burundi is struggling under the weight of chronic famine. As we put the finishing touches on the center and prepare for the launch, please pray for us.

  • From the 15-22 of January, partnering with Hand of Hope, we successfully managed to distribue additional Covid relief to 150 families in Burundi. We have another distribution set for later in February. Pray for us as we prepare to once again help these families.

If you would like to see more pictures of these outreaches, follow us online on our website or social media sites as we try to keep things updated. We will be going live on Facebook with the Hope Center launch as well as the Covid distributions.

We’ve seen the reality of God bringing multiplication in the middle of pressure. Planting churches, feeding children and more has happened at an accelerated rate in the past couple of months. The greater the pressure, the greater opportunity God has to work and get all the credit for all that He does. Thanks to all of you for your partnership and prayers,
