LIVE: Blue Growth Piraeus DEMO DAY The 9 finalists of Blue Growth Piraeus 2020 Competition will present their innovative ideas in the DEMO DAY of September 18th in front of the judging committee, the mayor of Piraeus, the co-organizers from University of Piraeus, and representatives from the State, the scientific community and the local marinescape. The event will be streamed online via the Blue Growth Piraeus facebook page. Save the date! The 9 finalists of Blue Growth Piraeus 2020 Competition will participate in a preparation workshop, organized by Blue Lab. Experts from different fields of entrepreneurship will guide the 9 contestants on "How to present and win the investors". |

A successful DEMO DAY in Mataró The "Premis BluAct Awards" took place on 22 June 2020 in TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme, a beautiful night organized by Mataró Municipality where the best innovative ideas on Blue Entrepreneurship for the region where awarded! Hackathons!!! The URBACT BluAct partners from Burgas, organized a Hackathon in order to engage the new generation into a process of Starting Up the Blue Economy in their area. |

The Municipality of Galati organized two HACKATONS, on 14th of September and 12th of December 2019 within the competition Danube Growth Initiative (DGI). Off to a good start, the two events gathered 48 participants and 12 projects in the Blue Economy field. Due to the pandemic restrictions in Romania, the next events (Preparation week and Demo Day) were postponed for the near future. |

BluAct is a network of 7 European port cities including Piraeus (Greece), Matosinhos (Portugal), Burgas (Bulgaria), Mataro (Spain), Ostend (Belgium), Galati (Romania), and Salerno (Italy) aiming to share good practices in Blue Economy entrepreneurship. The project is funded under the EU’s URBACT III programme, which helps cities to develop sustainable, pragmatic solutions, integrating economic, social and environmental urban topics.
