Just in time for summer reading, The Pack: The Dare & the Draugar is here!
The 230-page book is mom- and grandma-approved, and a hit with mighty girl test readers in Texas and California. It's suitable for readers ages 9 to 13, in grades 4-8, including boys who don't mind reading about smart girls and boys who make friends with smart girls.
Thank you all so much for sticking with me while The Pack was getting ready to be born into the book world!
So what's the plot? The Pack: The Dare & the Draugar is a book for middle-graders who like their stories to include magic, mystery and monsters. It's set at a summer camp in present-day California, in the middle of the redwood forests on the coast of Mendocino County.
Really, it's a book for anyone in middle school, or anyone who has middlegrade children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews, and/or adults who vividly remember being a middle-schooler.

Please share this e-newsletter with anyone who has middle-schoolers or buys books for them. And don't forget to join The Pack mailing list on my website (the sign-up box is on the bottom of every page) for details about book readings, independent bookstores carrying my books, reviews, swag, giveaways and more.
Speaking of reviews: if you read the book, could you please leave an review on the purchase page on Amazon, and also on Goodreads if you do Goodreads? You can also use your own Amazon account to post reviews from your own middle-schooler. Just end their reviews with a note like:
- From Cooper O., age 11, Friendship, Maine.
Reviews on Goodreads and Amazon will help The Pack show up higher in Amazon results when people search for books for middle-graders.
