On August 12, the House passed a bill that contains provisions for battling climate change and lowering the cost of prescription medication, as well as tax increases for wealthy companies. Though some unfortunate compromises were made for Senator Joe Manchin III, the bill still marks an important moment in U.S. history as the greatest action the country has taken on climate change to date. According to new research, seen in a recent New York Times article, a “megastorm” is due to hit California sometime during the 21st century. This storm is a result of major changes in climate which has affected the weather system near and around California. The question on every scientist’s mind now is how California should proceed in order to reduce damages and save lives from these major changes in our weather. Teen Volunteer Applications are Open at the Marine Mammal Center! |

Are you a teen aged 15-18? Are you interested in marine life and conservation? There’s an opportunity for you to be a part of the Youth Crew which gets approximately 120 hours of community service and training in animal care. Take This E-Course to Learn About How to Have Dialogue with Kids about Climate Change |

This course introduces the theme of children and climate change, with the aim to provide a children's perspective regarding the discussions on how to deal with this global crisis. It is a great way to learn how to teach kids about climate change and open up the discussion in a more age-appropriate manner.
