Our Children's Future

Earth Care + People Care = Child Care

Children are the future of our planet. Are they ready for what we will leave them? Changes in climate, ecology, tech, economies - how do we prepare them?

“The only ethical decision is to take responsibility for our own existence and that of our children.” - Bill Mollison, co-creator of permaculture

I (Teresa Tree Lees) hold that teaching children to think in whole systems is one of the skills they can use for a lifetime, and permaculture is tailor made for this. I believe that permaculture education for children is the key in preparing them for the dynamically changing workplace, economy, ecology and planet they will inherit.

On December 9th & 10th I will be part of the Children and Permaculture Summit online and invite you to join me and many other instructors to learn how to give your child a leading edge advantage, and get them off screens and back into nature.

Join me at the Children & Permaculture Summit December 9 & 10 to learn how to give your child the advantages they will need to face the next century.

I will be giving a virtual field trip of Our Global Family Farm on December 10th.

My presentation is called "A Walkabout: A Children's Garden Tour."

Sign up for the free summit and to purchase your lifetime access here.

In Our Future We Are All Part of One Family

Our Global Family Farm is a children's permaculture garden located at City Farm SLO. This is the garden being featured in the Children & Permaculture Summit.

It is our local permaculture demonstration garden tended by our permaculture community. Our motto is "growing community by growing food."

At Our Global Family Farm, we’re promoting global unity and permaculture design principles by growing food crops from the four corners of the globe through regenerative agriculture techniques. With seasonal community farm celebrations and volunteer projects, we welcome you to join our endeavors aimed at bringing indigenous food cultures into the lives of local families.

Tend the Land on Sunday Mornings - 9am to 12noon

We are now coming together in small groups to tend the land on Sunday mornings, beginning at 9am until 12noon. Come join in the fun and meet other permaculture people.

We can host up to ten volunteers at a time. We wear face masks and maintain our social distance. Please email me, Teresa Tree Lees treelees@charter.net to let me know when you come and be part of the family!

Family Fun on Tuesdays afterschool - 3pm to 4:30pm "Pea Pods"

We are also hosting families to come to City Farm SLO to be involved in all the activities at the farm.... planting seeds and seedlings, harvesting crops, building soil, chicken care, etc.  With all the virtual learning happening right now, along with a massive amount of associated screen time our students are having, we wanted to create some unique opportunities available for some local outdoor activities. Hooray!
