Dear Seafoodies
We appear to be in good company. Since launch about two weeks ago this blog has attracted 99 individual visitors and more than 600 visits. We are also up on the South Kensington Farmers' Market Facebook page:
https://en-gb.facebook.com/SouthKensingtonFarmersMarket.
There are now 10 recipes posted using 9 different species of fish and shellfish. Who would have thought that of all the available seafood, the one with the most recipes (OK it's only two - so far) would be the humble whelk?
With summer upon us, the cockle and clam fishery now open for the rest of the year and summer veg back on the stalls in abundance, I have to encourage you to consider the Cockle and Broad Beans number I posted recently:

I'm also pleased that a very good friend of mine who is an extremely good cook and, importantly, an expert on fine wine, is happily proposing excellent, interesting and well-priced accompaniments to some of the recipe ideas. Tempura oysters paired with sake is one we came up with:

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend Bute St market this coming Saturday. Please don't accuse me of having bigger fish to fry.
So for the moment I wish you all happy fishing - even if that is simply buying the fish!
Please spread the word and here's to summer!
