key limes and good times

We’ve been cooking up some fun treats and times for our community to enjoy this summer. We’ve added a new specialty latte to our menu for the warmer months — a key lime latte (available iced and hot). How do we make the key lime part? We dehydrate organic limes for 20 hours before grinding them into a fine powder which we combine with a little brown sugar to form a house-made syrup with a punch. Think summer afternoons at the beach… in a glass. The lemon-mint espresso tonic has remained a beloved choice for steamy afternoons, and we’ve brought back the toddy latte (ginger, honey, lemon) for the summer as well.

open-roast nights

Thursday evenings this summer during Middlebury’s ‘Midd-Summer Market’ series, we’ll be opening our doors (though not literally — too many flies) to anyone who wants to pop-in and get a glimpse of us roasting. We’ll also have cans of our Snapchill iced coffee as well as bags of coffee available for purchase!

Stop by between 4:30-7(ish) at 24 Merchants Row in Middlebury!

wholesale spotlight: Putnam’s Vine/Yard

From the time we first chatted with the folks at Putnam’s, we felt readily connected to their vision. A wine bar and plant store with coffee and tea service in an idyllic setting, they also bring in food trucks and pop-up vendors to serve extra goodness. The wonderful people at Putnam’s serve coffee via pour-over, putting emphasis on the sensory experience.

We’re thrilled to have our coffees on their rotating menu. Stop by this summer to try our Kuta Waghi and Verano Tropical (come July) on pour-over, and stay for a delightful wine flight!

little seed Ledger:

a fun collab with Mount Holly Beer

little seed Ledger is our blog inspired by the little seed team and what we’re passionate about. This month, we’re sharing a little about a new collaboration with Mount Holly Beer.

We first connected with the awesome folks at Mount Holly Beer in early 2022, sharing a common appreciation for each other’s craft. In May of this year, we decided to come together on a coffee collaboration — a blend of our natural and washed coffees from Guji, Ethiopia that we cupped and developed together. Cupping coffees with others is always a good time, and doing so with brewers provided us with a unique opportunity to share tasting notes and makes comparisons between roasting and blending coffees, and brewing and selecting hops. The result is ‘Two Ethiopias’, a super smooth and delightful coffee, perfect for summer mornings. Two Ethiopias is currently available at multiple spots in VT and CT (as well as on our respective websites).
