Happy Friday, friends!

I often hear the phrase "Oh, I'm so behind on ______" followed by all kinds of negative self-talk. Sometimes this is triggered by a new season when we realize we missed opportunities, didn't follow through on good intentions or didn't "achieve" everything we wanted to during the season we're moving out of. Sometimes it's simply getting to the end of a month and wondering how the days are over, but the lists are still there - lingering and nagging at us. Then we try to revamp our motivations to "turn over a new leaf" for the next month, week, or year...

It's human nature to reevaluate and be self-critical, but it's also important to remember that we have God's grace to wash over all the shame/guilt we heap on ourselves.

Hmmm, apparently this theme was on my mind about this same time last year, so I thought I'd share a post from then to encourage you again:

Falling into the Word

Psalm 23 is always a balm to discontentment with all its reminders of the Lord's provision and comfort. Although I've Bible Quilted the passage several times, this original one on the leaf template remains one of my favorites.

To honor our journey through September, I put together a video summary of the process of building my pages for the Names of God series. Check out some of the pretty pages shared by members of our creative BQ community toward the end of the video!

One of the ways I start leaning in to the next month is by decorating my BQ calendar. It's become a ritual of sorts to gain some closure on the previous month as I literally turn the page and begin looking forward to what's coming up the next month.

Here's a look at my process for October:

Have you tried the new template Autumn Glory yet?

I had so much fun being creative with it one morning this week. I'll be sharing my page at our Zoom session on Tuesday and would love to hear about your ideas, too!

Pumpkin Patch Combo | Biblequiltjournal.com

With the crispness in the air comes the sights and smells of fall. I thought it might be time to release this cute lil pumpkin patch template that my sis-in-law designed a couple years ago. I used washi tape to decorate the stems, then started searching for verses related to a theme of Harvest.

Pumpkins Galore...and a little more

There's just something cheerful about a pile of pumpkins even if they're still dusty from the field and sporting nicks and scrapes...

Show-and-Share

Remember Mary Jo's Names of God page shared the other day? We made it into a template for all of you to have access to!

It pairs nicely with "His Sheep" template that Alice designed for us a while back.

You're welcome to share pages you've been working on in the FB group , in the comments section of the blog post corresponding to your topic, or here to add it to our collection of sample pages.
