All or something
Forget 'all or nothing.'
This week, we’re peddling the virtues of 'all or something,' instead!
In this alternative 'either or' healthy lifestyle scenario, we're recognising that on those inevitable occasions when we don't - and can't - get everything right, even the smallest of token efforts count for as much.
By effectively closing the gap between being 'on' and 'off' track, we're promoting our best... to enough, which in itself can be as beneficial (if not more) for wellness, as the pursuit of perfection.
With the 'all or nothing' mentality of old, rarely standing us in good stead for consistency, it often proves a false economy when it comes to both our time, and energy.
Lowering the bar, on the other hand, makes everything from healthy eating...to fitness, just that little bit easier than when no wiggle room is afforded, for life getting in the way.
This week’s testaments to the power of 'all or something' include -
1. Cowboy Waffle Pie, which mixes the benefits of convenience, with a wholefood approach to cooking.
2. Kefir for breakfast, even if the good intentions just so happen to end there.
In these busy times, doing 'something' is infinitely better than nothing, and through accepting this hit-or-miss reality of doing things well, the pressure ebbs... and the joy of the marvellously mediocre flows!
