Dear Parents/Carers,
I think you will be able to tell from the number of stories in Heart News and on our Personal Development Blog that June has been our busiest month of the school year. There has been so much going on both in and out of school, there is too much to highlight in just one letter.
The ‘Lip Sync’ events have been absolutely brilliant! In all my years as a teacher I have never known anything bring a school community together as much as this has. It has been the talk of corridors and classrooms, we cannot wait for the final Lip Sync battle which will take place in July. A huge thank you to the Ethos Team, especially Miss Close, for organising ‘Lip Sync’, and in turn raising money for one of our sister Sacred Heart schools in Eldoret, Kenya.
I had the pleasure of travelling with our new Head Girl team to London on Saturday 17th June to attend a Mass to celebrate 180 Years of the Sacred Heart sisters in the UK. The venue for this special event was Digby Stuart College within Roehampton University, which is a Sacred Heart Higher Education institution and part of our UK Network. It really was a special place, with a beautiful campus and chapel, which was where Mass was celebrated. We were joined by all the Sacred Heart schools in the UK, as well as the Sacred Heart sisters and other guests. It was a day that will stay in our memories forever.
We have just three weeks left of this academic year and still have our Feast Day celebrations and Big Mass to look forward to in July.
Best Wishes,
Mrs Howell
