Leadership Academy in Malawi has been amazing! Thanks to all who have worked so hard to make this happen. |

“I’m not called to be successful but to be faithful.” Mother Teresa No matter your job description or career, the pressure to succeed surrounds us. There are more ads than we can count on how to build a lucrative business, climb the corporate ladder, and build a famous brand. The temptation to succeed in this way is everywhere. While success isn’t necessarily bad, it isn’t what we’re called to. Jesus said in Matthew 23:23 “Woe to you…hypocrites…you have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness…” Jesus put faithfulness right next to justice and mercy. If we’re faithful, success as God has defined it for us will follow. |

Attendance has been nearly perfect for every day of the teaching these past two weeks. |

Report: Leadership Academy in Lilongwe, Malawi As I write this newsletter, we are coming to the end of our Leadership Academy module in Lilongwe, Malawi. We have 151 students in attendance with 26 different churches represented. On Friday, April 13, we will present the students with their certificates of completion. |
|
We are grateful to Paul and Debbie Troquille and our amazing team on the ground in Lilongwe who worked with us to make the past two weeks of training possible. We are planning to return to Malawi next year for another module of classes. This time we have had in Malawi has been amazing. |

Project Updates/Prayer Requests 1. June - We will be returning to Burundi in late June for a second module of leadership training for 150 pastors and church leaders followed by a pastors’ seminar. Meals and transport are provided for all attendees which weigh heavily on our finances. Training leaders is the only way we can broaden the reach of the Gospel and accelerate our church planting efforts. 2. October – we will facilitate another free community clinic with a team from Hand of Hope in Malawi. We are grateful for another opportunity to see thousands treated and receive the good news about Jesus at the same time. There are many formalities we have yet to complete before the outreach, please pray for favor and open doors. |

3. School expansion in Malawi – we are in the process of purchasing a property adjacent to our existing Hope Center in a suburb of Lilongwe in Malawi called Mtsiliza. We have had a kindergarten running on the site for nearly 10 years and with this new property, we hope to expand by at least 4 grades. The purchase has put a strain on our finances but we know that God won’t stop with the property. He will provide for all that we need to build and expand not only at the Hope Center but at our other two schools in Malawi that are also growing. |

4. School launch in Burundi is set for September! Our school’s registration is in progress and all is moving ahead. We have nearly furnished the classrooms and are preparing to purchase the curriculum and hire staff. Believe God with us for a successful launch! 5. Cyclone recovery in Malawi has taken some time. Over 500 people lost their lives and more than 500,000 are displaced in the country due to a cyclone that hit Malawi not once, but twice last month. Several church families lost everything which we are helping replace. The school’s toilets in Blantyre were destroyed and we are now in the process of rebuilding them. We pray your success in what God’s called you to do takes you farther than you have dreamed – your success is our honor! Thank you for your partnership and prayers. Jamie, Lea, and Andreya |

This trip to Malawi was special for our family as Andreya (pictured left with friends Favour in the middle and her brother Kenneth) was born in Malawi. She was able to reconnect with friends who happen to be our lead pastor's children. There's a certain camaraderie among preachers' kids for sure. |
|
|
It was special as well for us to reconnect with our leaders in Malawi and brush off our Chewa that we have not spoken since moving from Malawi. Jamie impressed everyone with his preaching in Chewa after such a long time. |
