Great turnout for the IRB Crew Module Course held last Saturday at the club by our Powercraft Instructor Bryce
Last Saturday, Muriwai hosted 3 other clubs for an IRB Crewperson’s module. 31 lifeguards turned up and successfully completed the course and feedback was all positive so we’ll look to do it again in the New Year.
Huge thanks to Danny Tenheuvel, Oliver Eadie and Cole Ashby for turning up and examining, instructing and driving IRB’s for the day.

55 Muriwai Nippers competed at Omaha Beach last Saturday in the first participation carnival of the year. Perfect conditions enabled our U10-year-olds doing their first carnival to really push themselves. Some amazing results but even better teams work. A big thank you to the whole Muriwai team of Surf Officials, Lifeguards, logistics, coaches etc
Senior Sports Training
The Senior Surf Sports team is training three times a week. Monday and Wednesday 5:30pm at Long Bay and Saturday 10am at Muriwai.
All guards welcome who are wanting to do a bit of fitness work. Options of weekends away at various carnivals are also available.

By Graham Lowther. On Sunday 2 October 2022 I was getting a bit of exercise at the beach when rain and wind forced me to head back to my car parked on the Coast Road vehicle access when a vehicle towing a large boat (large for Muriwai) drove onto the beach. Sitting in the car I decided wait until a lull in the rain then go back to tell them that they should come back another day.
Jetski Training/Exam out at Muriwai Beach last Sunday
