HELP IMPROVE THE "HEALTH and SAFETY" OF BLACK COLORADOANS
Question #1: Do you have any loved ones who died or were injured due to racism prevalent in hospitals and among healthcare providers? If you don't, you know someone who does.
Question #2: Are you aware of anyone being sent home from the ER with a pain prescription and advised to see her or his PCP, who later suffered complications? These occurrences are not unusual for Black people.
Question #3: Can you take a few hours out of your life to help stop these trends?

Anschutz Medical Center
Hello, I am Nathifa Miller, and I am seeking participants for a focus group to discuss racism, structural racism, in the black community of Colorado. See attached flyer. As stated on the flyer, the commitment is to attend 2 sessions, 2 ½ hours each, via zoom conference video or call-in (YOU DO NOT HAVE TO APPEAR ON CAMERA).
There will be limited demographic information gathered and the sessions will be recorded. No identifying information is gathered because the recording is ONLY for the purpose of the Colorado Black Health Collaborative to gather qualitative data. NO IDENTIFYING INFORMATION WILL BE USED. The sessions will be on the weekend, preferably on a Saturday. The specific time has not been determined, as I would like this to be scheduled based on the availability of the participants that are interested. The first session is tentative scheduled September 18 or September 25. Group participants will receive a $60.00 gift card for participating in both group sessions.
Please let me know by Friday, September 3, if interested or have questions. You can email me at nathifamiller03@gmail.com. You can also text or call me at 970-305-3131. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
