Spring Into Action

Spring is here! It is a season to appreciate growth, progress, and change, but not to ignore or forget the challenges we face together as a community. PCA acknowledges and condemns the continuing acts of racism, violence, and hate in our world. PCA stands in solidarity with our Asian American Pacific Islander communities. In a recent survey, 26.8% of PCA Cheerleaders surveyed indicated that they identify with the Asian American Pacific Islander communities. We see you. We hear you. We embrace you and elevate you - two things cheerleaders do better than anyone else! We draw inspiration and motivation from within our family to spread positive social change across our communities. Strong and united, we cheer each other on in collective solidarity and action. Here are some ways you can start to learn, educate, advocate, and act!

Feature PCA Member Team: Capital Cheer Elite Storm

We caught up with Sacramento's own Capital Cheer Elite Storm! PCA Delegate and Coach, Alex Romo, gave us all the hot news from CCE:

What's up, CCE? Tell us what's new with your team and what's coming up in the forecast for Storm!

We have an exciting forecast filled with fundraisers and fun! We are currently having a T-Shirt sale! To order yours, please head over to our Instagram or fill out this google form. Later in the forecast, we have a showcase, a few competitions, and we are hoping to wrap up our year with San Francisco Pride. We will also be debuting a NEW UNIFORM -- an original design by our Founder and Coach, Cesar! Wait till you see this uniform! It’s so HOT, just like a Sacramento summer, you might want to get your AC going. Stay up to date with your favorite Sacramento team on Instagram.

You've been a PCA Team since 2014! What is your favorite event or PCA memory?

It’s hard to pick one favorite event! As a team, we are all looking forward to Long Beach Pride. LBP is where we debut our routine for the session and we get to bond and get to know each other more. But, me? My personal favorite event is San Francisco Pride, especially the Main Stage performance. Nothing fills my heart with more joy than watching the look on our athletes’/teammates’ faces once they HIT their routine on Main Stage and get that crowd going wild!

If you and your teammates were SUPERHEROES (I mean, even more than you already are), what would you Superhero Business Cards say?
If we were superheroes, we would most definitely be something like Wonder Women. Our business cards would have our slogan: “CCE making a difference in the world one cheerleader at a time.”
