The dog days of summer...

The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run..

Apparently the dog days of summer are the hot days late July and early August. Of course any time anyone says about dog days, I hear Florence Welch singing in my head. And I think in Colorado the dog days decided to hang on for a while. As a person who grew up on a temperate, rainy island, semi-aridity takes some getting used to.

This month I'm digging into AI a bit more, continuing my blog series, sharing some work I'm super proud of and letting you know about a conference I'm talking at in October. I've been a busy bee while hiding from the heat!

Writing great email subject lines

Subject lines are like book titles. Although we're always told you shouldn't judge a book by the cover, if we're honest, the title is a large part of why we pick a book up. So how can you make your subject lines more compelling, while avoiding being clickbaity - which everyone will hate you for? Here are some tips.

About me

During the dog days of summer I escaped the heat to spend some time on Lake Superior's Wisconsin shore. I know it's a big lake really, but the locals like to think of it as an inland sea. It is impressively large. It was also the tipping point that made my husband buy a paddleboard. So far the board has only been blown up on my carpet to check there are no leaks, but maybe this is the start of a whole new era!

See you next time.
