Shamanic Influence at Resilience |
Though Reiki is my core practice, I also identify as an energy worker to acknowledge influences from other domains that inspire my work and enrich the healing experience for my clients. Shamanism is one of the domains that has a significant impact on how I approach my work. |
Practiced in diverse cultures throughout the world, shamanism is not only the oldest but arguably the most widespread spiritual path. Shamanism is based on intrinsic understandings that All of nature is quickened with spirits and is interconnected through divine spirit. There is no need to follow any religious leader, commandments or a sacred text to be on a shamanic spiritual path. Various shamanic practices give individuals direct personal access to spiritual realms. |
One such practice is journeying which is the inner art of traveling beyond ordinary reality to the realms of spirit. During these travels, journeyers connect with spirits (which can be guides, protectors or teachers) for purposes such as gaining wisdom to inform decisions or answer questions, or to get support or healing. |

My Attraction to Shamanism |
Primarily due to religious oppression, the culture into which I was born unfortunately lost its shamanic perspective and practices centuries ago. Because I found traditional religion lacking with respect to meeting my spiritual needs, I began what turned out to be a long search for another option. |
When I finally discovered shamanism several years ago, I felt drawn to re-claim my own shamanic heritage: to develop for myself unique personal connections within the realms of spirit. Through many years of study and practice, and with guidance from a number of highly experienced shamanic practitioners,* I have been able to grow and strengthen relationships with a wide array of compassionate helping spirits. |
My relationships with spirits bring a depth of meaning, insight and a wealth of resources that enrich my personal life as well as my healing work. Over time, I learned how best to integrate the wisdom and support of helping spirits into healing sessions for the highest good of each client. |
NOTE: Though shamanism is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion: It involves no dogma or worship. It is respectful of, and compatible with whatever religious beliefs clients may have. |
