LIVING LEAN DURING QUARANTINE

Just because you’re living a healthy lifestyle doesn’t mean you need to compromise a good time. So many diets restrict alcohol or the occasional treat, making it hard to enjoy yourself especially with the long weekend upon us. While I’m not encouraging you to fall off your rocker this weekend with late night bites and bottomless sangrias, it is important to understand that you CAN enjoy yourself with a bit of creativity and "Michelle O'Brien Hacks". I feature a few of my favorite long weekend recipes that your waistline will thank you for! 

Skinny Lime Refresher

 

1.5oz Absolut Lime Vodka

Juice of 1/2 a lime

Handful of crushed ice

Handful of muddled mint

1 cup Our Compliments Key Lime Sparkling Water

 

In a short glass add ice, vodka, lime juice and muddled mint. Pour over sparkling water and stir.

 

Careful love, these drinks go down E-A-S-Y!! At least they are only 70 calories per drink!

Michelle's Caesar Dressing

 

1 cup 2% cottage cheese

1/4 cup unsweetened cashew milk

2 Tbsp light mayo

2 Tbsp light parmesan cheese

1 Tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp anchovy paste

1 tsp garlic puree

1/2 tsp worchester sauce

1/2 tsp dry mustard

sea salt & pepper to taste

 

Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth. Chill until ready to use. Will keep for 5 days.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Frosty

 

1 1/2 cups unsweetened cashew milk

200g frozen banana

2-3 large icecubes

1 scoop chocolate whey isolate protein powder

2 Tbsp powdered peanut butter

1 Tbsp cocoa powder

 

Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth. Top with your favorite toppings: chopped up protein bars, sprinkles, chocolate chips, etc.

Cookie Dough

 

1/4 cup All Bran Buds

2 Tbsp casein protein powder

I love PE Science Cake Pop Protein

2 Tbsp unsweetened cashew milk

1 Tbsp powdered peanut butter

1 Tbsp quick oats

1 Tbsp smooth peanut butter

1/4 tsp cinnamon

Pinch pink salt

 

Mix all ingredients together. Enjoy!

Toppings: chocolate chips, sprinkles, nuts, seeds, etc.
