Apologies in advance, I’m throwing this together in about 15 minutes.😅 It’ll be mostly photos I’m sure.
This week I’m turning 25! Actually today, today is my birthday.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’m an old man and whatnot, but really right now my mind is on SCUBA diving. I went on a dive yesterday to a depth of 103 feet, it was my first “altitude dive” (even though I’m not at a really high altitude.) AND 103 FEET! THAT’S SO DEEP!
I’m at a place called “Dive Valhalla” in Abilene, Tx. It was 31 degrees last night and I didn’t hardly sleep. I’d like to say that’s because of my nerves but really it’s because of the cold (I’m camping in a tent).
This place is crazy! It was a nuclear missile silo built during the cold war, now it’s privately owned and flooded with water. Here’s some pictures:
All the doors are blast doors. As if that would save you from a nuke in the next room over. (Would it?)
Cool right?
I’m the least experienced diver here by far, so I’ve got to stay on my toes and not put anyone in danger. But everyone is easy-going and I’m having a good time.

Oh, also this place is casually placed in the middle of a wind turbine farm (is that what you call it?). I love it here. Here’s a view from my tent:
There are literally turbines ALL around this place in every direction.
That’s Dive Valhalla! That’s how I’m spending my birthday week, thanks for reading!
