Fostering Tomorrow's Industry Leaders - Grow, Harvest, Process School Tour

In May, we had the privilege of hosting two Grow, Harvest, Process School Tours with students from Caboolture State High School and Morayfield State High School. The students toured plantations and sawmills in their local area. This initiative provided a first-hand glimpse into the intricacies of the forest and timber industry supply chain. It was a day brimming with inspiration, highlighting the numerous job opportunities available such as; forester, drone pilot, fire protection officer, forest harvester, wood machinist, saw technician, and so on! With so many different career prospects available in each sector, it was hard for them to pick their favourite.

We would like to thank the following who have made these tours possible; Greg Stuckey and the team from HQPlantations Beerburrum, Rachelle Holt and the team from AKD Caboolture. We're thrilled to have played a part in broadening the student's perspectives on their future career opportunities.

Fraser Coast Industry and Careers Showcase

The Canopy Hub team were busy in June as they exhibited at both the Fraser Coast Industry and Careers Showcase and Morayfield SHS Career's Expo. The team travelled up to Maryborough, stopping at Morayfield on the way, for the showcases which were both a success. The Fraser Coast Industry Careers Showcase boasted over 2,000 attendees which is an incredible turnout!

Attendees were able to explore the careers in Queensland's Forest & Timber Industry through our ForestVR headsets and were also given the opportunity to win some very cool prizes through a lucky dip! Our exhibit was alongside many others in the Forest & Timber industry; DTM Timber, Sunchip Group (with their amazing training simulators!), Hyne Timber and HQPlantations.

Thank you to Morayfield SHS and Jobs Fraser Coast for organising successful events. We look forward to our next expo in Gympie on Wednesday 10 July between 10am and 4pm at the Gympie Showgrounds. Entry is free so come along and check out all the region has to offer! Find out more by clicking
