Praise for Unforgetting:

"What is Unforgetting—a coming of age story, a thriller, a slice of hemispheric history? All I can say for sure is that it’s both gripping and beautiful. With

the artistry of a poet and the intensity

of a revolutionary, Lovato untangles the tightly knit skein of love and terror that connects El Salvador and the United States. This book is an eye-opener

into a world Anglo-Americans have

been taught is enemy territory.”

— Barbara Ehrenreich, author of Natural Causes and Nickel and Dimed

“There has never been a book about the Latinx experience quite like Roberto Lovato’s Unforgetting.

Here is a voice that is outraged, philosophical, thoughtful, blunt,

emotional, and, above all, fiercely independent. In this illuminating and insightful memoir, Lovato journeys into

the underworlds of the fraught history of

El Salvador, and his own California upbringing, and finds injustice,

resistance, and hope.”

— Héctor Tobar, author of Deep Down Dark and The Tattooed Soldier

Keep Donations Coming for the Early Childhood Center in Arcatao

We are part way to our goal! If you haven’t had a chance to contribute, please do it today and thanks for your support!

The Centro de Bienestar Infantil, Arcatao’s community early childhood center, is in need of important repair. The community town council, the Directiva, has identified it as their most critical need as this time.

The old wood holding up the roof is rotting and the windows, bathrooms and fence have not had regular maintenance and need replacement for the safety of the children, parents and staff. The total cost for all these repairs is estimated at $6,500. Our goal, with your help, is to raise $1,400 to repair the roof immediately. There is an effort to collect donations and labor locally for these projects but substantial funds from us would make it go so much faster. Most people in Arcatao do not have steady work.

They live on the food they raise themselves, occasional day jobs that pay one dollar per hour and for some, remittances. There is little money to spare so our help for large expenses like this is critical.Thank you for all your support both today and in years past. We cannot continue our solidarity without you!
