An Open Letter to the Sindh Samachar

It is a joyful honor for me to write a few words for this wonderful publication of the Sindh community. The ancient cultural and spiritual heritage of the Sindh diaspora and its strength and resilience as a people thriving throughout the world are truly remarkable. I believe that your triumph is due in no small measure to the depth of your knowledge traditions, established as they are in the most profound understandings about life and its roots in consciousness.

As you know far better than I, the Sindh culture cherishes the understanding that consciousness is the one reality underlying everything. This clearly suggests that, through effective application of practical, consciousness-based technologies, the human mind and physiology can rise to enlightenment and enjoy the full development of life’s potential. But this most ancient understanding has been overshadowed by the mistaken belief, so common today, that consciousness is not the primary reality but merely arises from the functioning of the material, physical brain. The good news is that the latest discoveries of modern science are finally prompting a paradigm shift back to the much more profound and useful understanding that consciousness is fundamental.

In his New York Times best-selling book, Consciousness Is All There Is: How Understanding and Experiencing Consciousness Will Transform Your Life, Dr. Tony Nader delves deeply into the ancient understanding about consciousness from multiple modern perspectives—quantum physics, neuroscience, psychology, and the philosophy of mind—and examines how all these scientific disciplines are now confirming the wisdom of the ancients.

Dr. Nader is a renowned Vedic scholar and medical doctor trained at Harvard who also has a PhD in Brain and Cognitive Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In his book, he proposes a model of human development based in consciousness, and he introduces technologies that develop higher state of consciousness, technologies that have been empirically verified by a large body of peer-reviewed, published research. These technologies of consciousness include the Transcendental MeditationTM (TMTM) program, a simple, natural, effortless technique for direct experience of pure consciousness, introduced by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi nearly 70 years ago.

Dr. Nader is the successor to Maharishi and leads the organizations teaching Transcendental Meditation and its affiliated programs in more than 140 countries. These organizations offer applications of this knowledge and these technologies of consciousness that are scientifically established, practically applied, and spiritually enriching. Decades of scientific research have shown that greater productivity, happiness, and better general health, as well as greater resilience and longevity, naturally develop for those who, through TM, regularly experience the state of pure consciousness or the Self, as it is called in the ancient Vedic science. More than 750 studies on TM have shown conclusively that, when individuals effortlessly experience this simplest state of their own awareness, every aspect of life is improved and living becomes increasingly in accord with and supported by the total potential of natural law.

The experience of pure consciousness during the Transcendental Meditation practice is correlated with higher blood flow to the frontal areas of the brain (producing alertness) and lower blood flow to the brain stem areas (producing greater rest). Alpha-frequency coherence in brain activity is higher during TM in the frontal areas of the cerebral cortex, indicating that the brain is functioning as a whole. Breath rate and heart rate are lower during TM because the practice lowers the activity of the sympathetic nervous system that typically fires in emergencies. These positive changes are immediately reflected in lower anxiety, depression, and burnout. And research has established that when the state of transcendence or pure consciousness is experienced repeatedly through regular practice of TM, this results in better health and greatly improved well-being, balance, and performance in all areas of life.

I believe that the profound experience of pure consciousness and the deep understanding that accompanies it can provide a sound foundation on which the Sindh culture will not only endure but will flourish and help provide the light of peace so much needed in today’s world. As a community, you touch all parts of the world, bringing the best of Sindh to so many in the societies where you live and work. Your extraordinary culture and this modern revival of ancient knowledge together inspire the hope that we may join hands and widely bring the knowledge and technologies of consciousness to many. I believe that in doing this you will also preserve and strengthen all that is most cherished by you of your precious heritage.

With best regards,

Namaste,

By Jawahar B Lalla.

The question is are we really celebrating our independence as we had wished?

Let me take this opportunity to congratulate & wish every Indian Citizen on our country India 77 Independence Day which was on 15 August 2024.

Let's first understand what three colours define our country's flag.

Saffron stands for courage and sacrifice

White stands for peace and truth.

Green stands for growth and prosperity.

I feel the true celebrations of our country Independence will happen when???

Our people will not spit on the roads, train compartments, walls & compounds.

Garbage wouldn't be thrown on the streets.

We as Indians should respect our Indian currency & shouldn't write anything on Indian currency notes.

Our women of the country are able to walk stress & tension free whether they are in cities, towns or village's.

Not to drink fight, & create nuisances in public places for silly things.

To protect & give refuge to needy domestic animals of our country.

To save our country natural resource water, electricity, trees & our forests.

Protect & respect our heritage sites & tourism sites.

Plant new trees in our building  society's, compounds ,roads & highways.

Not to condemn any God or religion in any manner whatsoever.

Not to drink & drive in roads.

To go green & save our planet.

Not to break traffic lights & government laws set on us as responsible citizens to follow.

Stop corruption at all levels, all offices whether goverment, courts, PSUs & public offices.

Respect our country women's with dignity & ensure molestation, rapes are stopped with immediate effects.

We should ensure & take care our politicians who should not make a mockery of our law systems.

We should ensure doctors, lawyers, police, government officials, police and corporators don't use their influences to make wrong money out of their professions.

There should be 24 by 7 government corruption-free offices, online web portals & grievances departments which address & solve the grievances of common citizens of India.

Let's change ourselves first and the day we become civilised & responsible citizens of our India, we all would have true independence celebrations.
