“Creativity takes courage.”
― Henri Matisse

Hi there, !

This year really has flown by. I know I say this everytime, but I remember just yesterday setting my goals for this year, and now we’re already six months in.

While not everything went as planned, I’m excited to share what’s been going right. Let’s recap the past weeks for NESSART16!

The past few months have been a time for art markets.

In the beginning of this year I gave myself a goal to set up for art markets as often as time would allow me to do so. I have done quite a handful so far and they’ve been rather interesting.

I set up some in my own apartment for an event, some at a children’s flea market, a college fest, women’s day set up, and a music festival.

It may be interesting to note that in my experience, the pop up stalls I held at places that were either free or at a nominal stall rent, turned out the best.

I've learned a lot from these markets - how much and what I should expect, what my audience likes and doesn't like, what the people who aren’t my audience like, what’s in demand, how I should be pricing my work and so much more.

I've also had encounters with a few interesting exhibitions.

The first was a chance encounter with an architectural exhibition at the first floor of a cafe/theatre space.

A very interesting setting.

It featured the scale models of a few establishments around the world by a group of students.

And it was really really fun to look around and notice all the little details put into the creations. The intricate railings, floors, furniture, roofs, and even the people.

It was so fascinating to explore.

The second was my visit to m university graduation show.

It feels surreal that I was there a year ago, preparing for my own graduation project.

It was a poignant reminder of how quickly time flies.

My favourite section was from the printmaking and painting department. Lots of interesting colours, subjects, concepts and pieces.

I also did my first ever private workshop facilitation. As part of a larger program, I led a session on art journaling, covering creative journaling, junk journaling, gratitude journaling, fear-setting exercises, dream journaling, and more.

Despite my initial nerves, the experience boosted my confidence tremendously. I hope to build on this and maybe even conduct more public workshops in the future. The possibilities are endless!

And now that we’ve taken a good walk down memory lane, let's look at a few things coming up:

I made an enamel pin!!!

Aaand did anyone order the awesomest collab ever? I won’t give away too much of this either, you’ll have to stay tuned for my posts on Instagram for the full reveal, but here’s another sneak peak for a future product for the shop that's going to be here very very soon!!!

There’s so much happening with NESSARt16 right now, and it’s a very exciting time. After being in yet another slump for a while, it feels like everything is finally falling into place. I’m not one to push promotions, but we have SO much in the pipeline. Keep up with everything on my Instagram and here for cool updates and sneak peeks. I’ll see you soon!

with incredible excitement and Lots of love,

ness
