Dear Parents/Carers,
We hope your daughters have had a lovely half term holiday and have returned to school refreshed and ready for the second half term and the run up to Christmas. We hope you enjoy reading all of the stories in Heart News, taken from our Personal Development Blog. The first half term was just seven weeks long but there has been so much happening here at Sacred Heart both in and out of school.
Our Curriculum
At Sacred Heart we recognise that parents can contribute a huge amount to their daughter's education, but that your daughters often may not share everything about what's happening, on a daily basis, in their classes. To help you understand our curriculum and how we have organised your daughter's learning please follow this link: Curriculum Overview
Each subject has been broken down the learning into topics, detailing what will be taught and when it will happen. For every topic, your daughter will receive a 'Learning Journey'. This plots a lesson-by-lesson path through the topic and maps links to previous knowledge. She will also receive a 'Key Words' list and a 'Knowledge Organiser'. Your daughter can show you examples of these in her exercise books/folders and on her Year group’s 'Sharepoint' area.
Personal Development
We understand that many of the skills that are valuable in life are not always taught in the classroom. Just to remind you we offer a very wide range of Extra-Curricular activities and encourage all students to participate. The clubs and activities offered in this Autumn Term can be found here: Extra Curricular
Also, a reminder that Study Club is also available in the Library every night so that students can complete their homework and also receive extra help and tuition from teaching staff. The Study Club timetable can be found here: Study Club Timetable
Best wishes,
Mrs Howell
