The best summer of my life was when I attended Interlochen Arts Camp at age 14. The scent of the pine forest, our cabins on the lake, the friendships with other talented musicians, and daily inspiration by great teachers all created lasting impressions that shaped who I am and set me on course to becoming a professional musician.
When I first visited NatureBridge some 30 years later, my Interlochen memories flooded back. I was struck by the beauty of the surroundings and felt that it would be the ideal setting for strings camp for students in Port Angeles and beyond. Fortunately, Chuck Whitney shared my vision, and after a successful launch at NatureBridge in 2019, he went on to found the Olympic Strings Workshop with a mission to inspire students with a lifelong passion for music.
