President's Challenge

February - Writing Instrument

plus

January - Kitchen Utensil

Bill is planning to turn two square pieces. First, making a shallow, thin-walled square platter. Bill will have a few beginner-level tips for turning thin-walled vessels. Second, he will turn what is called an inverted bowl, using jumbo jaws in a scroll chuck. Bill says a fair amount of planning goes into the chucking and reverse chucking of this second piece.

Attached are written instructions that will help you follow along with Bill's demonstration.
