Helpless, tired and scared and you aren't even in the Conflict. |

November is here, and it has been a month. Since October 7th, we have been bombarded with graphic images and videos of the terrors incited on Gazans and Palestine in general *been a lot of drama in the west bank as well* A lot of us have felt helpless, and small. How can one voice make a difference in this war? How can someone like me make an impact on a conflict going on for 75 years? "Nobody in the world, nobody in history, has ever gotten their freedom by appealing to the moral sense of the people who were oppressing them." -Assata Shakur “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." -Martin Luther King Let's look into what someone like you can do, and how you are NOT helpless and really CAN make a difference in the world. |

Talk to Your Kids: Talk to your kids about humanity, basic kindness and standing up for what you believe in. Give them the lessons and morals to be advocates for a safer world in the future. But shield them from what is happening, and make sure you keep the photos, videos and sounds *from when you are watching* away from them. Focus on What You Can Control: While it's impossible to control everything, you can manage how you respond to challenges. Concentrate on the aspects of your life where you can make a positive impact. Support through Social life: Find places that are selling products or services to help/aid Palestinians. Having a birthday party instead of gifts set up a donation page, where guests can donate. Go down to see my personal story with this. Be inspired: Seeing friends, or families doing something you feel is great and empowering. Be inspired, this is not the time to fear "copying" or taking someone's thunder this is a time to be united and be the thunder. Financial Contributions: If its a one-time donation or through regular giving, you can provide essential support for relief efforts and the overall well-being of the people in Gaza. Take a stand: Remember that while there are usually two sides to an issue, it hardly means both are equal. Please remember what you believe in, and take a stand. Don't know where to start? |

Acknowledge Your Feelings: The first step is to recognize and accept your feelings of helplessness. It's okay to feel this way, and acknowledging your emotions is a critical part of the healing process. Give Back: Volunteering or helping others can provide a sense of purpose and empowerment. It reminds us that we have the capacity to make a positive impact on the world, even in small ways. Advocacy and Awareness: Raise awareness about the situation in Gaza by sharing information on social media, participating in discussions, and engaging with local and international advocacy groups. Advocacy can help bring global attention to the issues faced by Gaza's residents. Educate Kindly: m Educate uninformed people, explain the history of Palestine, the plight of the Palestinian. Be an example, don't yell, aggravate or get violent, instead be in control and open and share the truth. You are on the right side of humanity, no need to get defensive. If people don't want to agree simply move on and educate someone else. Take a stand: Remember that while there are usually two sides to an issue, it hardly means both are equal. Please remember what you believe in, and take a stand. Don't know where to start? |

Boycott: Clearly communicate the reasons for your boycott to your target, supporters, and the general public. Use social media, press releases, and other communication channels to raise awareness about Gaza and the boycott. Encourage cultural and artistic exchange: Create or share art that bridges of understanding between Gaza and the rest of the world. Share stories of individuals and their unique stories. Supporting initiatives that promote cultural exchange can foster a sense of connection and empathy. Volunteer or Intern: Some organizations offer opportunities for individuals to volunteer or intern in the region. If you have relevant skills and experience, consider contributing directly to projects in Gaza. Take a stand: Remember that while there are usually two sides to an issue, it hardly means both are equal. Please remember what you believe in, and take a stand. Don't know where to start? |

And this is for everyone: Remove the guilt of having a good life: You are not a terrible person for enjoying your life, for laughing at a joke, for enjoying a tv show. You are human, and God gave us the gift of life so enjoy it. Do what you can to help, but do not stop living. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further advice on being helpful in the small ways, or still progressing with your goals even with some fears. We're here to support you every step of the way. I look forward to hearing about your goals and dreams no matter how big and unreal they seem this November. Let's make it a month filled with speaking up, speaking out and taking a stand. - Bashayer |
