TO OUR BEAUTIFUL COUPLES,
When planning for your wedding, people often tell you to be ready for anything. But we’re not sure anyone expected this pandemic. As a bride, you must be going through a mirage of emotions. A lot of the couples that we know, are feeling so confused and stressed. One minute you were planning to walk down the aisle and the next minute you have no idea when it will be possible. Nobody could say whether things will go back to being fine tomorrow, next month or months down the road.
Sadly, we have no answers either. As photographers and videographers, we and pretty much everyone in the wedding industry were completely blindsided by this too. People don't know whether to postpone or not postpone.
Our heart goes out to you our couples who have had to put a halt on starting your new life together. The truth is that life is on a standstill for everyone right now too. It’s very surreal that what should be the best times of your lives has turned into this. But we will get through it!
You see we’re all in this together. And if there’s one thing that we can be sure of about love, it’s that love conquers all. We also can’t worry about what we cannot control. Social events might be canceled, but love is not canceled.
Learn to take each day as it comes. There’s power in positivity and you should have it at the back of your mind that despite how things are looking, at some point, you’re going to get married to the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with. So, take a step back, breathe and create a plan of action. Corona might have tried to knock us down, but we’ll come out of this alive and swinging.
So, how do I go about creating a plan of action? If this is your question, we hope you find answers in the few paragraphs below.
CONTACT YOUR VENDORS IMMEDIATELY
They are the ones who are helping you put your wedding together, it’s only right that you talk to them about what’s next now. You see at this point, the wedding industry wants nothing more than to accommodate and relieve all your stress. But to do that, we must all work together.
Keep an open mind and understand that you may have to accept changes to even things like days of the week. Your vendors are not here to rip you off. Everyone is dealing with lots of brides right now so stress levels are through the roof. The truth is that on other days of the week, you’ll have a good chance of securing all your vendors. If you send us an email, we can give you all the available dates, and you can check with your venue and church to see what free dates match.
COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH YOUR GUESTS
Whether through social media or a phone call, create a communication plan to inform your guests. If you have a wedding website already, you can also use it to communicate. A simple and straight to the point message should do just fine.
ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR FEELINGS
Let yourself feel a little sad. It’s a very emotional time and your feelings are valid. We may be facing bigger issues as a country but your wedding was also important to you and us.
CELEBRATE THE DAY ANYWAY
If you did have to postpone your wedding, it does not suddenly render that date useless. That date will always hold significance for you so, celebrate your day anyways. Get dressed up, eat cake, have champagne, take selfies. And if you do please tag us.
Remember we are here for you guys, and we will get through this. We love each and every one of you. And we’re sure that when the wedding day finally comes, it will be a bigger and better celebration.
Stay Safe!
HELEN & CLAUDIO xoxo
