The Wyeth Mystique Here is Jamie Wyeth in Maine a couple of summers ago. Grandson of N.C. and son of Andrew, and every bit as talented an artist as both! He's laughing because Ted just asked him about his wardrobe: Knee britches, knee socks, big, clunky clogs. All he ever wears! He said, "Take all your old suit trousers, whack off them off at the knees. That's the secret!" Splendid fellow! And don't miss:"Presenting Wyeth and American Art" two concurrent shows featuring works by Jamie at the Brandywine River Museum of Art in Chadds Ford, PA. "Phyllis Mills Wyeth: A Celebration" is up until May 5th and "American Beauty: Highlights from the Richard Scaife Bequest" runs through May 27th. Click below for more information and to get tickets. Hurry! You don't want to miss these two Jamie Wyeth shows.

The Chaperone in Red Ted had a fab time rubbing elbows with Downton Abbey's comely "Countess of Grantham," (Elizabeth McGovern) at the New York premiere of The Chaperone, written by Julian Fellowes, of Downton Abbey fame. The movie is a beautiful story of love and redemption. Check out the trailer below.

The Last Word “I started to write short stories at age 8 in the 3rd Grade. They say: “Write What You Know.” Well, what I knew back then were two things. Cowboys. And Aliens. UFOs were in the skies in the 1950s. And Cowboys were on the air. All my favorite TV shows were about Roy Rogers and The Lone Ranger and The Cisco Kid and Hopalong Cassidy. I wrote stories about cattle drives way out West. Driving the beasts to Montana. Suddenly, UFO’s would swoop down out of the skies and start lifting the cowboys out of their saddles and up inside the spaceships with tractor-beams." photo: Victoria de la Maza |
