Our partners at PreventHer presented on Breast Cancer Awareness for our clients. We learned about causes, genetic predisposition, what to do, and how to perform self exams. One of our own clients, who had been an OB/GYN in her home country for many years volunteered to give us demonstrations of a self exam and a clinical exam to remove any uncertainty around the process for our participants. She explained in detail the anatomy of breasts and what changes in our bodies to notice that would prompt a Dr's visit. |

The amazing travel trainers from UTA came to our office to provide the essential training to our community members to access all UTA public transit options. We went over the various routes, how to plan your trip, various card programs, and did a practice run on an actual UTA bus. Their route expansion planning team also came to gather valuable feedback from riders on how to improve the system. We are proud to provide this training in multiple languages to ensure our community is confident in their ability to travel safely. |

THANK YOU LILLIAN BOWLES-BROWN |
Lillian has been our volunteer coordinator since January, serving with us through the AmeriCorps VISTA program. Due to legislative actions and changes in federal funding, she is being reassigned to work with the Youth program at the Refugee Services Office. We are so grateful for the time we've had Lillian at WoW, and for her passionate support of WoW's mission. In particular, her work to re-envision our mentoring program has created more impactful mentors and better results for our clients. Lillian will be sorely missed by all of us at Women of the World, and we wish her all the best in her new assignment. |
