A Summer full of sunshine, stitching and showcasing our work |

Talking Textures In this exhibition each member will be investigating and exploiting the theme of texture through a range of textile based approaches, techniques and materials, some conventional, others far more unexpected and experimental. Textiles is a very tactile and physically engaging medium, we pull, roll, stitch and punch to manipulate fibres and fabrics. Working with textures is an integral part of the process. Each fleece, fibre or fabric feels different and reacts differently when used, each has its own character, potential and limitations. We build new surfaces, applying layers, stitching, felting, cutting through, even deconstructing. Each process creating new textures and unique pieces of artwork. | | |
