The concept of Black is a really interesting study. Considered a shade not a colour, black is really the absence of light. True black is near impossible to achieve because there needs to be no light reflected from the black object. For fabrics, true black is too black, we want to be able to see the weave structure, and we want to see the details in the fabric. To achieve a black looking fabric we need to create an approximate black, a colour which is as dark as possible. This means we trick the eye into thinking that black is black. We have included many blacks into our range, and if you look closely you can see that each one is slightly different. Some may be a warmer shade, some cooler; some might throw green, some blue. We have blacks that are flat, textured, patterned, and tonal. We have a black to suit every project and every interior environment. Black is our most popular selling colour, which is why we make sure there is a black option in every range. |

In a commercial environment black has been used for everything from curtains, and pin boards, to chairs and auditorium seating. Residentially, we have had clients use black on dining chairs, cushions, and lounges. Black is a popular colour choice, it is more forgiving with accidental spills, and general wear and tear than lighter colours. Black is high contrast and graphic, it can be used as a great base to accent other colours of all shades to give life and personality to a space. | | |
