This is a great opportunity to hear about all the experiences your child will have this school year, as well as, what to expect for the remainder of the school year.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Calling all Hickory parents! Here are our available volunteer opportunities, we hope you can help us make this year extra special for our students.

Library

We're planning to open the Hickory library in October, but we need your help! The library is 100% volunteer-based, so let us know if you can donate some time to ensure our student's get the learning benefits they missed out on last year!

If you're interested in volunteering in the library, please let your teacher know or email Xindy Holiday at xindy.v@me.com.

Adventures in Art (AIA)

No art experience required, just a love of art and the willingness to share it with kids. Docents are required to attend AIA’s orientation and five Wednesday art workshops. We need at least 1 docent and 1 additional helper per class. If you're interested in volunteering for AIA, please  let your teacher know or email Amanda Kirsch at hickoryaia.Amanda@gmail.com. 

Please note: As part of the online application process, all volunteers must submit a TB Test/Risk Assessment Form as well as their COVID vaccine documentation OR a recent negative covid test result (PCR and rapid tests accepted).

We've Got Spiritwear!
Show your school spirit when you purchase a class t-shirt. Each grade is represented by a specific color and it's perfect for things like assemblies, events, and field trips. Plus, the kids will love our brand new design!

Need a Student Emergency Kit?
Disaster preparedness is one of our top priorities at Hickory. At the beginning of each year, parents are required to supply a personal Emergency Kit for each child.

If you previously purchased a kit, and it was returned to you at the end of the school year, you may still be able to use them. They are good for up to 5 years.
