C&D is equal parts store, homage to american industry, and inspiration for crafting experiences in your own backyard.

President's Day is upon us, but cool your jets. Before you go cracking the Knights' Templar codex and breaking into the National Archives, just know there are still plenty of C&D shakers to go around. We love a good holiday and excuse to gather with friends and family for a strong drink, especially if it's a uniquely American holiday. This President's Day comes at a time where we probably could all use a breather from the last couple of weeks - Reddit members practically upending the stock market, trying to figure out if you can get a COVID vaccine, and realizing that virtual life continues into yet another month.

This month's newsletter is dedicated to helping you kick back and enjoy the coming holiday weekend. What better way than a pairing a patriotic movie and cocktail that practically scream 'Merica?

If you're like one of our founders and cry like a baby get cold chills hearing President Whitmore's speech in the Independence Day movie, or think Harrison Ford deserved an Oscar for Air Force One, why not settle in for a good movie?

This list shares 10 President-themed movies. We'd like to add National Treasure to that list, because nothing beats angry Nicholas Cage stealing the nation's most important document (and apparently our awesome, one-of-a-kind cocktail shaker).

In other news, Valentine's Day is just a week away. While we can't promise USPS will deliver your shaker in time, we do offer overnight shipping and it's not too late to get a gift in for the big V-day. Take this as a friendly reminder to avoid the doghouse and the inevitable 11th hour CVS search for a Hallmark card with a lame-ass Nicholas Sparks quote.

You can do better.

Lastly, our Drinks Deck will be hitting the (virtual) shelves again soon! We've added a tips and tricks card that will help you live your best cocktail life - we think you'll dig it.

If you didn't pick up a deck during the first release, sign up for our waiting list and be the first to know when the next order is ready. Until next time, friend...

THRILLIST

Drunken Founders

James Madison was known to consume a pint of whiskey a day, but you know what? James Madison isn’t on this list of hard-partying Founding Fathers, because in a time when the average citizen was rated a one-, two-, or three-bottle man and alcohol was safer than water, a pint a day just isn’t that impressive...

SPOTIFY

Hamilton

If you're still curious about all the fuss over Hamilton, or if you've never even see the show, start here.

We suggest you begin with "Right Hand Man." While Hamilton never served as President his story is about as American as they come.

P.S. George Washington's speech is our personal favorite part of the play.

Twice per month, we'll send you a newsletter with updates about product releases, custom cocktail recipes, and other interesting happy hour tidbits.

Upset you missed out on one of our previous newsletters? Don't you worry - we've archived them right on our website for you!
