Learn a new skill with our Serger 101/201 class or Sewing Machine 101/201 class. These are two of our most popular classes so be sure to sign up ahead of time through phone call, email, or stop by in person to ensure your spot! |

Sergers can be a little intimidating but in this class, we'll help you gain confidence through understanding how the serger works. Once you get started, it'll be difficult to stop! The date for Serger 101/201 is on Saturday, June 16th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. We also have a Creative Serger class coming up on Tuesday, June 26th from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. In this class you'll learn about many different things the serger can do, including Pin-tucking, faux cording, flat-locking, and more! |

We missed Kids' Sewing Club last week but we're back on this Saturday, June 16th from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. If you don't already know, in Kids' Sewing Club, we have all kinds of craft supplies to share with you! We explore hand-sewing, machine-sewing, weaving, knitting, crocheting, jewelry-making and more. This club is free of charge! |

The Patchwork Tote Bag class with Josefina is back, and it starts tomorrow! A lot of people have been asking about the beautifully creative tote bags hanging up around the shop, and now is your chance to design one of your own! There are three opportunities to take this class - Thursday, June 14th, 21st, and 28th from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. |

The Wednesday Crochet Club will be held every Wednesday (starting in July) from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. This club is for crochet enthusiasts, from absolute beginner to advanced. So bring your yarn, tools, and projects to SewGreen@Rochester for some new ideas, help, or just to meet other crocheters in town! |

Block by Block Quilt Class Learn the basics of machine piecing a quilt by making a different block each week in May. Whether you have never quilted before or have some experience, we’ll help you master the basics of rotary cutting, sewing a perfect 1/4” seam, and combining fabrics for a pleasing design. Each week you will cut out and sew one or two blocks. You may choose fabrics from our collection or bring fabrics of your own. $35 for the 5 week session or $10 drop-in. Offered every Wednesday in June from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Sewing Machine 101/201 Make friends with a sewing machine in our shop, or bring yours from home. We will take you through the basics of machine operation and safety, and guide you toward sewing a project. In Sewing Machine 201, build on the skills you've gained in Sewing Machine 101. Is there a sewing project that interests you, or that you want to complete? How can your newly-gained sewing machine skills help you achieve that goal? This is the place and time to learn! These classes are great for ages 10 & up (or younger with an adult present). Prerequisite: Sewing Machine 101 Offered Tuesday, June 19 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Crochet Flower Shawl Crochet some wearable flowers for Spring and Summer! In this class you'll learn how to crochet openwork stitches to create lace and flower shapes within this pretty shawl. Attend all classes, or come as you are able. $10 per 2-hour class. Offered Monday, June 18, & 25 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. *June 18th afternoon class only Patchwork Tote Bag Want a simple way of building up your machine-sewing skills? Join us for this class! We will provide the materials, and you will leave with a brand new tote bag! And don't forget to bring your new tote bag in on a Scrappy Saturday! You can fill it with scraps and yarn ends for just $5, and who knows? You might make another bag from the scraps! Attend all classes, or come as you are able. $10 per 2-hour class. Offered Thursday, June 14, 21, & 28 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Serger 101/201 Sergers can be a little intimidating but they are great sewing tools once you understand how to use and adjust them to suit your project! In the 101 class, learn the basics of threading and tension. For Serger 201, you've learned the basics but want to go further! Bring your serger, or sit down at the shop sergers. If you bring your own, don't forget your serger's manual and all its feet, too! Offered Saturday, June 16 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Hand Embroidery Embrace the fading art of embroidery. From lazy daisy and feather stitches to French knots and blanket stitching, let's rediscover fine needlework together! Ages 5 and up. Offered Saturday, June 23 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. |

Offered Tuesday, June 26 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Working with Dress Forms Learn how padding a dress form can help you put together outfits and understand the fit of your clothing. Professional measurements will be included. Offered Saturday, June 30 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Fearless Fashion Camp Have you ever wanted to design your own clothes? Let us show you each step of the process, from your sketch to the runway, using our fabrics, notions, sewing materials and machines. Join us and have fun working to make your dream garment while working alongside others with their own vision and the same goal! Ages 10 & up! Two week camp offered - July 9th - 13th, & 16th - 20th from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Continental Knitting Continental knitting is also known as, German knitting, European knitting, or picking. You'll learn how to hold the yarn differently, eliminating the yarn over/throwing your hand and arm the way you do for English-style knitting. Also, because of this you can reduce the strain on your hands and shoulders, and with a shorter distance between your needles and yarn, you can knit a lot faster! Attend both classes, or come as you are able. $10 per 2-hour class. Offered Monday, July 9, & 16 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. Rub-Off a Pattern Do you have a garment that you love to wear? It's the perfect fit, or drape, and you just can't find another quite like it? Don't despair! You don't have to take it apart to duplicate it. Bring it in, and we will help you recreate it without tearing apart your favorite piece of clothing. This class will be taught in two parts in July: Tuesdays, 10 & 17, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sewing Machine Maintenance Learn how to keep your sewing power tool purring along! We'll teach you the best ways to clean out the dust, fluff and bits of thread that clog your machine's action, and the safest ways to lubricate its parts. Offered Saturday, July 14 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sewing Machine 101/201 Make friends with a sewing machine in our shop, or bring yours from home. Remember... Every Saturday is Scrappy Saturday! Our small scrappy bags stuffed with scraps and rolls of fabric and/or unmarked balls of yarn are only $1 all day (regularly $3 on weekdays). Bring your own grocery-sized tote and stuff it full for only $5 (regularly $10). Stop by and fill a bag this Saturday, and every Saturday! |
