February 2018 News

Scribbles by Shirley

Seasonal businesses have the ability to make the year fly by. I am celebrating my 38th season of being the First Lady of Fun. January has flown by with loads of family activities and exciting planning for the opening  of Fulton's Winter Magic and Maple Harvest Season on February 17.

It was great fun meeting many of you at the Cedar Hill Christmas Tree Farm before Christmas. When you come to Fulton's during the maple season, remember to bring the BOGO card you received when you bought your Christmas tree. This will entitle you to a free Fulton's meal with the purchase of any meal of equal or greater value. Feast on pancakes, gluten-free waffles, vegetarian maple baked beans, sausages or bacon, quiche and a range of yummy desserts!

January and February are months of high energy and planning at Fultons. The computers are buzzing,  phones ringing, stoves and waffle irons are hot, candy machines are stirring, dust bunnies are being tamed, shelves are being stocked, the 4-wheeler is humming, tappers are being tuned and snow is crunching with Scott's footsteps.

Amongst all this human activity our maples stand quietly soaking up cold temperatures, rain and snow storms and beautiful winter sunshine. They await Scott (like generations before him) to visit each one of them and ask that they provide our family once again with a healthy portion of their sap. For six generations our family has been supported by these magestic giants.

Our whole family and our Team Awesome staff are ready to open our doors to your family on February 17. We encourage you to Come Play In Our Backyard!

Sweet maple wishes to you,

Shirley Fulton-Deugo

Weather Warrior Returns to Fulton's

The weather that our forefathers had to battle created more challenges than what we have to deal with today. Feel more Canadian by becoming a Fulton’s #WeatherWarrior. Follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) to hear about designated Weather Warrior days. On designated Weather Warrior days, we will post a secret #WeatherWarrior code. If you choose to embrace the Canadian elements and join us for some maple goodness on those days, tell our kitchen staff the secret code and we will offer you 2 meals for the price of 1 (one special per family per visit). We encourage you and your loved ones to celebrate winter throughout the maple season. Please remember to be mindful and stay safe.

Go For the Gold Winter Games at Fulton's Sugar Bush

On Sunday, February 25, from 1 to 4pm, Mississippi Madawaska Land Trust (MMLT) is hosting Go for Gold Winter Games at Fulton's Pancake House and Sugar Bush. Don't worry- Olympic level athleticism is not required! These winter games are all about having fun in nature. The event will also be the finale for MMLT's campaign to raise funds for the stewardship of the Byrne Big Creek Nature Preserve near McDonalds Corners. Come participate in the Go for Gold Winter Games and celebrate  our community's generosity in making Joel Byrne's dream a reality.

Snowshoe or hike along the Green Trail, starting and ending at the Heritage Path. Try your hand at the polar putt and target toss. Participate in quizzes and riddles and roast marshmallows on the Heritage Path campfire.

Join the games as a family/ group or individual. The cost is $10 per adult; children under 18 are free. There will be a prize draw for each category (family/ group or individual) for those that complete all the games by 3:30pm. These are not timed events.

Fulton's Pancake House will be open so you can indulge in fluffy pancakes, maple baked beans, bacon or maple sausages and an array of delicious maple desserts.
