PASTORAL PAGE DOING OUTREACH TOGETHER by Asst Ps Timothy Lee Sharing the gospel and reaching out is one of our challenging callings as Christians. We may feel fearful as we do not know the response, especially if the person rejects it. On the other hand, we may not know how to share the gospel. These reasons can make it challenging to reach out and share the gospel with others. Yet we are called to share the gospel to the lost through our word (proclamation) and works (demonstration) (Matt. 28:18-20). In our church’s Vision 2028, we want to focus on 3 core areas (1. Greater prayerfulness, 2. More caring and connected community, 3. More prevalent disciple-making) and 3 strategic areas (1. Phygital church, 2. Urgent local outreach, 3. HOMEWORK HELP FOR CHILDREN FOR CHILDREN FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES The Good Neighbours ministry, together with many faithful volunteers, has been reaching out to the low-income families in West Coast since December 2021. Currently, we have 19 active families. Apart from providing monthly grocery vouchers and other practical help, we have seen a growing need for homework help for the children of these families who are struggling in school. Sign up now, and let God use your gifts and time to impact these young lives! Commitment: 3 months (to be reviewed thereafter) Frequency: Once a week or every two weeks, timing to be decided based on availability Location: The Bible Church Qualification: Proficiency in subject matter, no prior tutoring experience required. HOW TO BE A PART OF THE EQUIPASIA (EA) MINISTRY EA PRAYER SUPPORT WHATSAPP GROUP If you feel a burden to pray for the ministry of EquipAsia in Asian countries, please join the EA Prayer Support WhatsApp Group. This group is for our regular worshippers only. Please contact Dn Law Le Li at 9785-4708 or Gift Daniel at 9631-5193 to join. ASIAN MISSIONS FELLOWSHIP (AMF) Scripture exhorts us to encourage one another as the day draws near. This is what we aim to do through our bi-monthly Zoom fellowship with our EA Master Trainers and other Asian partners. AMF meetings for the rest of the year will be on 15 July, 9 September, and 11 November at 8pm. Please note that the AMF meetings have been changed from Tuesdays to Mondays. This year, our devotions are based on the book of 2 Thessalonians, and Lim Shien Kwok will be sharing the devotions. Please register here. EA GRADUATION TRIPS We have planned EA graduation trips to Laos, Cambodia, India, Bhutan, Indonesia, and Mongolia from September to December. Due to the sensitive nature of the EA work, these trips are limited to 3-4 people only. STAFF APPOINTMENTS WENDY HAN, JOINING AS MISSION MINISTRY STAFF WEF 1 JULY 2024 We are pleased to share that with effect from 1 July 2024, Ms Wendy Han will be joining our staff team as Missions Ministry Staff-worker. Wendy previously served with Youth with a Mission (YWAM) as a missionary, training disciples in a school setting and co-leading a team to Nepal to establish a new missions base there. During her time in Nepal, she acquired the Nepali language. Wendy mostly recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Counselling from Singapore Bible College. As the Missions Ministry Staff-worker, Wendy will work closely with the Lead Pastor and Missions Board to provide leadership and to coordinate existing missions works in the various fields, as well as mobilise and equip worshippers to be involved in missions. She will also provide training and care for missions partners, church planters, missions workers and missions trippers. Given her experiences and training, we believe she has the potential to undertake the tasks of a Missions Ministry staff-worker well. ANG EE LING, JOINING AS YOUTH MINISTRY STAFF WEF 1 JULY 2024 We are also pleased to announce that Ms Ang Ee Ling will be joining the church staff team as a Youth Ministry Staff-worker with effect from 1 July 2024. Under the supervision of the Lead Pastor and Asst Ps Patrick Chan Yin, Ee Ling will provide pastoral leadership to the youths and challenge them to reach their generation for Christ. She will help ensure the smooth and effective running of Teenacity and seek to equip and empower the team of volunteer youth leaders in their service. Ee Ling will also seek to care for the youths and their families. Ee Ling is a trained social worker who has previously worked with youths and their families in organisations such as Trybe Limited, New Life Community Services and Allkin Singapore Ltd. Most recently, Ee Ling worked as a medical social worker at the Institute of Mental Health. Ee Ling has a big heart for youths, outreach, prayer and worship, and we believe she will be able to connect with our youths and help them grow as more passionate disciples of our Lord Jesus. Please join us in welcoming Wendy and Ee Ling to our church! Pray for them to be able to assimilate into our staff team smoothly and minister effectively.
