Texas laws that took effect 01 January 2023

Automated McDonald's in White Settlement, First in US

Summary: Just 13 miles from Willow Park, McDonald's is opening its first automated location in the U.S. (OK, so it's not really civics or healthy food, but...)

"Invasion" on the Border, Parker Co. included

Summary: UPDATED Tuesday, 03 January, 2023; legislation filed in the Texas 88th Legislative Session to "require [US] Congress to follow Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution and formally declare war before the Texas National Guard can be deployed." In July 2022, Parker County joined the call for border control by proclaiming illegal immigration an "invasion."

New (Interim) City Hall

Summary: Willow Park City Hall is moving to its new, El Chico home on 11 January and will reopen for business 17 January. In December, the city signed a lease for a new (interim) city hall. WPC will update this Blog with new info.
