We hope you can join us to the second part of our SUMMER SERIES featuring "Sisters with a Story to Tell."

This summer, we're featuring three remarkable sisters who had exciting careers before answering the call to devote their lives to serve God. Coming up in July, we'll be joined by Sister Mary Andrew Hession, O.P., who will talk about her life and her work for Amoco in the Gulf of Mexico!

Our July meeting will be held at The Nashville Women in Film & Television, across from the Dominican Motherhouse. Thanks to our new member Lynda Evjen (WIFT President) for opening the WIFT Atrium for us.

Mix and mingle at 5:00 PM, meet and dine at 6:00 PM. Remember to RSVP by JULY 17.

Please invite your fellow parishioners and friends and share the mission of the league, or bring back inactive members so we'll continue to grow. If you haven't renewed your membership for this fiscal year, please do so.

SPEAKER

Sister Mary Andrew Hession, O.P.

St. Cecilia Congregation

“A Miracle of Grace on a Bus in Yugoslavia”

Sister Mary Andrew currently serves in the Office of Mission Advancement for the St. Cecilia Congregation.

Find out how this fascinating woman who majored in instrumental music education wound up working for Amoco in the Gulf of Mexico — and what led to her two pilgrimages to Medjugorje.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Lynne Warne

"And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."

(2 Corinthians 9:8)

What a fantastic turnout for the first of our three-part “Sisters with a Story to Tell” program! God had a hand in putting this whole thing together. I was inspired by Sister Mary Andrew when she talked to me about the earlier professions held by some of the sisters in the St. Cecilia Congregation. And then new member Lynda Evjen offered up the atrium of her building (across the street from the Motherhouse) for our summer series with the Sisters. Now that’s divine intervention in action!

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Michelle Beauvais

While our Summer Series features 3 Sisters of the Dominican Congregation, we're also featuring a member, who coincidentally, has worked with the Sisters of St. Cecilia early on in her career as an architect. How fitting!

Michelle Beauvais, a Louisiana native, has been a member since 2016. Aside from being a former member of the Metro Nashville Chorus, she has supported and donated her time to a number of non-profits and volunteer projects.

Visit our MEMBER SPOTLIGHT feature to learn more about Michelle and get to know other featured league members as well.

Short Film: The Veil Removed

How well do we know the Eucharist? In honor of the USCCB’s Eucharistic Renewal, here's a short film every Catholic must see to gain better understanding of the Eucharist. It’s an inspiring video that reveals the mystery that happens at Mass, not visible to our eyes.

The story behind the film:

While researching for a segment for their radio show Catholic Women Now, hosts Chris Magruder and Julie Nelson came across many stories of saints who experienced heavenly visions during the Mass. After the airing of “How heaven and earth come together during the Mass,” Chris attended Mass. During the transubstantiation, Chris felt the Lord calling her to show the world what they would see during every Mass if the veil was removed.
