A message from NJBS President Cristy Benvenutti. What a month it has been for the North Jersey Blues Society -- we are honored to be officially recognized as an affiliate of the Blues Foundation. Our member, band and sponsor memberships continue to grow, as does our social media following and website visits. Awareness of NJBS and its purpose is pushing forward in Northern New Jersey and then some! The NJBS was represented as far West as Antone's Nightclub with Vin Mott in Austin, TX, as far east as Wall Street Theater with Taj Mahal in Norwalk, CT, as far North as the Chenango Blues Festival with a multitude of fabulous blues artists in Norwich, NY and as far South as Earl's Hideaway with Jose Ramirez in Sebastian, FL -- spreading the word of NJBS! The NJBS hosted the second Blues & Brews series with the Robert Hill Band at Montclair Brewery, and will wrap up the month at the Sparta Summer Concert Series with Frank Bang on August 26th and at the Botany Village Concert Series with Katie Henry on August 27th -- two shows not to be missed! As we close out Summer and head into Fall, September promises to be just as busy for NJBS. NJBS will be represented at the Montclair Jazz Festival's Downtown Jamboree on September 10th, Morristown's Jazz & Blues Festival on September 17th, as well as Kean University's Jazz & Roots Festival on September 24th -- stop by the NJBS table for some swag and merchandise, or sign up for membership. NJBS will be hosting the third Blues and Brews series with Carlos Colina and the Grind at Montclair Brewery on September 18th -- you don't want to miss this special show! |
