Vitamin D and Autism: Exploring the Connection

Welcome to My October Newsletter,

Lately, I’ve been hearing more and more about autism, and it’s become a topic close to my heart. This month, I want to explore some of the contributing factors and share insights into how nutrition can play a supportive role. In particular, I’ll be focusing on the power of Vitamin D and its potential connection to autism.

As the seasons change, I also want to dive into nourishing foods for autumn—like root vegetables, warming spices, and immune-boosting mushrooms—all perfect for keeping our bodies grounded and aligned with the season. Additionally, I’ll be sharing my favourite herbs for mood, energy, and stress relief, which are essential as we transition into the darker, colder months.

On a more personal note, I’ll be opening up about my own health journey and how I overcame tinnitus, I’ve learned so much about healing—both from a physical and emotional perspective. Having dealt with past trauma like domestic violence, PTSD, and addiction, I know firsthand how these experiences can leave lasting effects on your health, from chronic inflammation to deep issues at the cellular level, particularly with the adrenals and stress response.

Vitamin D and Autism: Exploring the Connection

Vitamin D, often called the "sunshine vitamin," plays a crucial role in many areas of health, including immune function, brain development, and mood regulation. Over the past few years, researchers have explored the potential link between Vitamin D deficiency and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Studies say that Vitamin D may have a significant impact on autism, particularly in early development.

Managing Energy and Mood with Naturopathic Nutrition:

The reduced daylight can affect our internal rhythms, leading to lower energy levels, and a drop in mood. However, through naturopathic nutrition, we can harness the power of certain foods to combat this seasonal shift and support both energy and mental well-being.

How I Beat Tinnitus: My Personal Story of Hope and Cure

When I was first diagnosed with tinnitus, I was desperate to find relief. The constant ringing in my left ear consumed my life, and my initial appointment with an audiologist left me feeling hopeless. Instead of receiving the help I so desperately needed, I was told, "You’ll just have to live with it" and no other advice was given. That phrase echoed in my mind, filling me with immense stress and despair. How could I live with something that seemed so unbearable?

But giving up was never an option for me. I’ve always believed in doing my own research, especially when so-called professionals leave me feeling distressed. Determined to find answers, I dove into stories of people who had cured themselves of tinnitus. Their tales offered some comfort, but many lacked the practical, step-by-step process I needed to truly understand how to move forward.

That’s when I came across the story of Peter Studenik. His journey was different. He had undergone treatment with Dr. Pawel Jastreboff, the pioneer behind Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT). Peter’s experience was the first time I felt like I had a roadmap—something tangible that I could explore and potentially apply to my own situation. Luckily I did not settle for the mainstream media and audiologists narrative to just live with it and with the right guidance there is a cure.
