PLEASE make sure you're loading this entire edition of The Herald! Depending on your device, The Herald may be getting "clipped" and not fully loading. The very last things you should see are the P.O. Box address and "Visit the Website" link at the bottom. If you're not seeing this, there are two things you can try. At the very top of the Herald, click on the option to View in a Browser. If that doesn't work, look for "View Entire Message" where it looks to be the end/bottom of The Herald. You should be able to click and load the rest of The Herald. Hopefully this helps some of our members, who haven't been able to hear about all of the awesome things that the Matlacha Hookers have going on!

Madam's Kudos Corner

This has been a busy month for scholarship fundraisers. Kudos to Elsie Olander and Kimmy Rasmussen for their leadership roles with the Meat Raffle event and Kudos to Tammey Lynch and Stacy Sims for their leadership roles with Mrs. Roper Romp event. I am so impressed with the fresh ideas coming forth for fundraisers that embrace “work smarter, not harder” initiatives. And as a bonus, these events are just so much fun, as well. I encourage other members who have fundraiser ideas to bring your ideas forward.

Your involvement would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your consideration and support!

10/4 Fort Myers River District Alliance Art Walk ~ Last One!

October 4 is our final opportunity to staff the beverage tent at the Fort Myers River District Alliance Art Walk.  Matlacha Hookers sell beer and water under the Sun Coast Kona tent from 5-9 pm. Shifts are 4:30-7 pm and 6:30-9:00 pm. There is free parking on the street after 4 pm and parking garages are open, as is valet parking ($10) at the Luminary Hotel one block away.  Weather has not been our friend this summer. However, we've had a lot of fun and we're optimistic that we'll have better numbers for the last River District Alliance Art Walk.

It's a vibrant event - live music, safe environment, lots of restaurants open with indoor and outdoor dining.  Think about grabbing your significant other and/or some friends and come down for an evening off the Island or the Cape.  It's free.  We welcome visits from some new and familiar faces, and a change of scenery can be fun. It's a great event and we encourage members to attend and join us for a fun-filled Friday evening in Fort Myers.

STORAGE UNIT CLEAN UP

September means Fall is right around the corner, with Halloween treats and pumpkin pie spice, and the Matlacha Hookers will be planning our Fall and Spring events. Since we sold the trailer, items from the trailer were taken to the new storage unit, but not organized. So Madam LindaBo has set Tuesday at 10 am, October 15 as Storage Unit Clean Up day. So, ladies, bring your gloves and Ibuprofen to help make quick work of this fall cleaning.

Our storage unit is at 24/7 Store It Pine Island, 5111 Doug Taylor Circle, St. James City. We will meet at the north gate at 10 am.

Pine Island Loves Helen Roper!

The First Annual Matlacha Hookers Mrs. Roper Romp was a smashing success! We had 100 Helens from the island, Cape Coral, Ft. Myers, Naples, Venice, Englewood, and Pittsburgh! The event raised $3,315 dollars for the Hooked on Education Scholarship Fund - $2,000 from entry donations, $1,015 from 50/50, and $300 donation from Eagle’s Nest. The event Hooker Helens (Tammey Lynch, Stacy Sims, and Tracy Chapple) would like to thank the romp locations of the VFW, Moose, Kickstands, and Eagle’s Nest for their support and event themed drinks! The raffle bags were possible due to the donations from Blue Dog, Burnt Store Tavern, Street Eatz, VFW, and the Matlacha Hookers. The Matlacha Hookers turned out in amazing numbers as Helens and we even had a Janet and Chrissy! Special shout out to the 50/50 Helens: Mary Alice Combs, Anita Senicola, Julia Gaylor, Angie Ochs, Natalie Gazda, Kitty Kline, and Kelly LaMagna.
