During our 2020 Strategic Planning process, the Decatur community made climate action a top priority. City officials acted quickly, and in 2022 they approved of and adopted a Clean Energy Plan. This is an ambitious plan, the result of much stakeholder collaboration, and one that is in line with goals and timelines established by the worldwide scientific community. It provides clear direction to guide our transition away from fossil fuels and towards a resilient, renewable future.
To make the goals in the plan a reality it will require action from all of us.
The city of Decatur is currently conducting a survey to help determine how to most effectively inform and engage residents. It is so important that lots of Decatur residents take this survey, so that the City will be able to determine the best actions going forward.
