Better Late Than Never! October 2023 |
Have you ever felt like you have just too much to accomplish in one day? (Or in this case, one month?). That’s when we must come before the Lord and ask Him to rearrange our day, show us His priorities, and ask Him for His peace to navigate through. Without His insight, our days could seem overwhelming. That was my October–––so exciting, but full and busy. Hence, receiving this newsletter, on the last day of the month with the title, Better Late Than Never! |
I had a wonderful month, full of learning how to handle my new podcast, The Women Behind the Words, and what it will take to make it smooth and seamless. I give a grateful shout out of thanks to my team behind the scenes that make all they send out look absolutely stunning! I’m quite sure to them my learning may seem a bit slow and for that I am apologetic. Their patience with my lack of knowledge and understanding is commendable. Never have I detected any frustration toward my slow learning, although they do have their share of laughs when dealing with my limitations! |
Sometimes I hear them howling in the background. They never laugh at me or at my expense. We laugh together! For each of them, I am so very grateful. Besides the joy and privilege of doing a month-plus of podcasts, I’m busy interviewing future guests and filling my days now so I can have more time for family, home, and festivities during the upcoming holidays. |
October 27-28th, I had the wonderful privilege of being the speaker for a Women’s Retreat. Many days and nights were spent getting ready for that as well. It was so encouraging to see the Lord orchestrate my time, making His priorities clear for each day. He filled my hours with clarity and productivity which spilled over in gratitude, as He opened my heart and gave me insight and understanding. Lest I act like it was all a breeze–––on the contrary. There was warfare. Whenever we proclaim God’s love for us, His goodness to us, that He has plans for each of us this side of Heaven, and that our lives are significant, the adversary will be there to distract, break down, bring confusion, or whatever else he can do to thwart the work the Lord has us doing. |
I kept my eyes and heart and mind focused on Jesus and what His plan was for this retreat, and He was so faithful to give me His heart. We had an amazing weekend! |
So that’s where all my days went–––the month blew by. I now look forward to hunkering down and soaking in woodstove heat as the cold winds in upstate NY are starting to blow. I just didn’t want the month to go by without greeting you all, reminding you of my podcast which airs every Tuesday, The Women Behind the Words, and letting you know you are dear to me and so loved by Jesus! One last thought: when you receive this newsletter it will be the 1-year anniversary that Holy Interruptions: When God Taps You on the Shoulder, was released by Bold Vision Books, Friendswood, Texas. |
I can’t believe a year has flown by already. Frequently, I hear from readers who have said how powerful my book is and how much they were moved by the writing. I so appreciate the kind words I’ve received from my readers over this past year. Considering the present state of our world, reminding you about Holy Interruptions is not about a push for sales but rather an urgency within my heart to get the word out to the multitudes. It’s not about money. It’s about the message within the pages of the book. Each of us have our stories to tell. My story leaves the reader with hope for their broken lives. |
Holy Interruptions shines a light on our powerful God who is a life-changer. It brings hope to others who may be living a life filled with fear. It’s a volume that brings truth and hope to hearts through slices of 12 biblical women, most of whom were in serious storms, and slices of my life, as well. We all found Jesus faithful even when tragedy struck. He never left us. He never forsook us. Whatever we face, Jesus is the One who has the answers. |
Grief fills all our hearts over what is taking place in Israel and the whole of the mid-east. Time feels short. The days are dark. Many are frightened. God who sees, who gathers every part of our hearts and who holds us close, even in the storms we face, is a God, the ONLY God, the one, true God, who can carry us through days that seem overwhelming. We don’t always understand His ways and wrestle with the evil in the world … how innocent people suffer at the hands of such sick atrocities carried out by human beings. |
That’s where I must turn my heart and my eyes toward Jesus and focus solely on Him. Crying out for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth, as it is in Heaven, is the persistent cry of my heart. So, as we part now, “May the Lord bless you and protect you; may the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord look with favor on you[a] and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24:25 CSB). |
In closing this song is on my heart as I send this newsletter to you. May the words bring comfort and deep assurance we are loved, He sees us and will keep His hand upon us on the days ahead. And one day, maybe soon, we will be with Him forever. |
We look forward to the day we can breathe the air of Heaven, where tears will be no more. Until that day, we have work to do. Many tears are flowing, many hearts broken, fear in thousands of hearts is palpable, countless souls still need to see Jesus and who He is, and we are the ones who can bring hope in a world that hope seems hard to reach. |
As Jesus said to me years ago, ‘tell your story.” Remember, sharing what Jesus has done for you, will, no doubt, especially in this day, affect the hearts of others who hear you. Lives will be changed … one heart at a time. Phil Wickham - Hymn Of Heaven |
