Issue 6, February 2024

Welcome to February newsletter! In this edition, we extend our sincere gratitude to Mitsy Paterson for her insightful second presentation on concept-driven inquiry for Documentation Studio Türkiye.

February brought us an inspiring journey with Sara Del Rio, a leader in pedagogical documentation, whose passion lies in helping educators effectively present their learning stories in a compelling and effective manner through documentation. We also discovered the fascinating adventure of İlkcan Düzel, where documenting meets the art of education. Documentation Studio Türkiye had the honor of having another consortium meeting with Dr. Stephanie Cox Suarez, the Founder of Documentation Studios, alongside other Documentation Studios` founders around the world, igniting a global discourse on the importance of capturing learning experiences. We hope you brace yourself for an exciting trip into the heart of education, where every word, picture, and idea creates an inspiring masterpiece.

Documentation Studio Türkiye, Learning Together: Concept Based Inquiry-2

by Misty Paterson, Pop-Up Studio Founder

In Misty Paterson's concept-driven inquiry presentations at Documentation Studio, educators delved into pivotal questions: What define a conceptual lens? How do micro and macro concepts intersect? How did our diverse knowledge and experiences shape our perception of the concepts? What concepts live within? And how could we maintain a delicate balance of understanding? and more...

These inquiries sparked a journey of self-reflection, leading us to a deep comprehension of the core of education. With each question explored, educators found themselves on a transformative journey of thinking and enlightenment.

Documentation Studio Consortium: Professional Learning

The Documentation Studio Consortium, comprising members from Bunker Hill Community College, Worcester Head Start, Greenfield Community College, Documentation Studio Türkiye, and EXPLO, along with Isabela Garcia and Paulo Fochi, and led by the founder of Documentation Studio, Dr. Stephanie Cox Suarez, is dedicated to the mission of developing, supporting, and extending efforts to make public the learning of students and teachers.

As a member, Documentation Studio Türkiye also actively contributes to this mission, and it had a meeting in February. Through collaborative meetings and discussions, this diverse group of educators explores various methods and technologies for documenting learning experiences, shares best practices, and promotes the importance of documentation in education. Additionally, the consortium aims to create a global archive of documentation to facilitate the sharing of documentation practices among educators worldwide.
