Thank you to everyone that participated in our first Dress Down Day of the school year and donating at least $1. We raised over $600 to support Puerto Rico's Hurricane Relief. The money will go towards clothing, bedding and so much more. On the calendar our Christmas concerts are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, December 13th and 14th. I was recently informed that the elementary band concert has also been scheduled for December 14th. As you know, we just hired a music teacher and Ms. LeBoeuf will start teaching students on Monday, October 17th. We are working on whether or not the students will be ready for a Christmas concert in a month and a half (with school being out a couple of days) as well as working on logistics. I will update everyone soon. Although the Cathedral is undergoing renovations and we will attend Mass in the chapel, I have asked that we remain consistent, and students continue to wear their Mass uniforms on Fridays. Unfortunately, we continue to have problems in the upstairs boy’s restroom. We know it is not everyone, and that the vast majority of our students always do the right thing. However, there are one or two who think it is funny to flood the restroom. Please continue to have conversations at home about treating our historic building with care. I appreciate your help. Reminder - the Buddy Walk is this Saturday, October 15th at UNCCs Jerry Richardson Stadium as we support our Matthew Morgan students and the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Charlotte. |

WALKER DISMISSAL PROCEDURE If your child will be a walker this year at any point, be sure to select "walker" as one of the options on our Online Form (below). This form states that your family must live within walking distance of the school (no more than 1 mile away) and as parents you understand that your child will be escorted out of the building and expected to walk home without supervision. For safety reasons we will not allow students to be walkers if you do not live within a reasonable walking distance of the school, no more than one mile. Walkers will still continue to enter the gym in the morning as in years past. In the afternoon, walkers will be released out the door nearest the first grade classrooms which exits near the Family Life Center. A staff member will walk students to the Family Life Center area at which point they will continue to walk home. If a parent will meet the child to walk with them, they should plan to meet their child on the sidewalk between the church rectory and the Family Life Center. Families will not be permitted to play on the playground after school due to carpool traffic. Parking is not permitted in the rectory parking lot under any circumstance. |

BIRTHDAY TREATS Students are permitted to bring in store-bought (not homemade) treats to celebrate their birthdays with their class during lunch. Families have the option to purchase ice cream from the cafeteria for the birthday boy/girl and/or for the whole class to celebrate a birthday. Ice cream orders must be placed with Mrs. Loeber, the cafeteria manager, at least one week prior to the date to ensure enough ice cream is available for the class to participate. Mrs. Loeber can be reached via email at ejloeber@stpatrickschool.net. |
