The Virtue of Virtual Studios

One of the silver linings from this last (crazy) year, is that we've had to become more creative about how we go about our day-to-day lives. Last September, we boldly decided to launch Stay Tuned Yoga Unlimited. Our idea was to create a studio where teachers and students could continue our yoga practices from the safety of our homes. What we didn't realize is that it would be a great way to meet new people, and to connect with friends and family from all over the country! In a class couple of weeks ago, Hearon had people from Maryland, Florida, Minnesota, Montana, California, and North Carolina...all in the same class! One of my goals is to get my childhood friend, Mary, to one of my yoga classes. She lives in Alaska (how hard could that be?). One of the other benefits of the virtual studio is that you can literally roll out of bed and on to your mat (no names mentioned, but just know that pajamas always welcomed here at Stay Tuned Yoga). We recently had a friend who finished up a presentation at 6:00 PM, listened to the first part of the class on her phone on the short drive home, and then rolled out her mat and did the last 45 minutes of the 6 o'clock class with us. Not ideal, but some yoga is better than no yoga. Plus, you can't do that in a 'real' studio. So, while we miss the human contact of an in-person studio, we find there are just as many wonderful reasons to do your yoga virtually!

We highly recommend reaching out to a friend or family member and then either have them come to your house and do a Stay Tuned Yoga class together, or sign up and do the class virtually together. Both are great ways to reconnect!

The Stay Tuned Yoga merchandise store is still open! We've heard from a reliable source that the Stay Tuned Yoga shirt is one of the most comfortable tee shirts in his tee shirt rotation. The sweatshirt (worn here daily) is pretty sweet too. The side benefit is you help us spread the word about Stay Tuned Yoga by wearing your shwag!

As we've moved into full busy summer mode, we've also moved to a summer schedule here at Stay Tuned Yoga. The Y12SR class is on hiatus until September, and Hearon has added an in-person class for men on Main Pier (overlooking the Severn River) in Sherwood Forest on Monday nights. We are always looking for feedback, so feel free to reach out with your 'I sure wish you had a class on Tuesday nights' or 'Could you add more Yin/Yang classes?' or whatever version of that question is floating around your brain.

We're also excited to (almost) announce some big changes in how you sign up for classes! Starting August 1st, we're planning to streamline the class sign-up process. With the new platform, you'll be able to sign up for classes directly on our Stay Tuned Yoga website https://www.staytunedyogaunlimited.com

We also hope to be able to add back in the video library, so that you can do classes whenever you like. So, Stay Tuned...

Thank you again for the support (and if you haven't take a class yet, just know once you do, we'll be thankful). Find a friend, and do some yoga. We'll see you on the big screen...

Stay healthy and Stay Tuned...
