The NAB was launched in 2019 by several Dutch financial sector players, social investors, and impact fund managers, to which we are very grateful. With the mission is to increase the effectiveness of the Dutch impact investment ecosystem – with a broad spectrum of stakeholders – in order to contribute to developing new and scaling existing impact investment sub-sectors, to achieve the SDGs. |

A massive thank you to our NAB founding members! We believe in the positive power of impact investment and that the financial sector can be a force for good. We acknowledge that every single transaction has an impact and we strive towards making that impact a positive one. We are proud to introduce the leaders of the impact investing sector and founding members and partners of the Dutch NAB: |

In the past months, we have been working hard to make an impact. The NAB is currently initiating working groups that aim to accelerate the growth and improve the effectiveness of the impact investing ecosystem in the Netherlands. Through the working groups, we cooperate with stakeholders in different ways: engage, inspire, and catalyse. You can learn more about it on our website. |

The NAB recently participated in the Consultation of the government on the new BVm (maatschappelijk BV) status. We fully support the recognition of a legal form for social enterprises and mission-driven enterprises. This will bring them the recognition they deserve and help impact investors make a distinction and find alignment. Read our propositions (in Dutch) to further improve the proposed legal status and make it more attractive to impact investors.. |

The Leaders’ Declaration addresses recommendations from the impact investing sector to G7, G20 and COP26 leaders, Finance Ministers, and Central Bank Governors. It was created to address the great social and environmental challenges ahead of us in the post-COVID-19 recovery. It proposes to set three targets 1) scale impact investment to combat unemployment, reduce inequality and preserve the environment; 2) mandate impact transparency for companies; and 3) policy to empower companies and investors to pursue impact. The Leaders’ Declaration has already been signed by over 700 leaders and practitioners from the worlds of finance, business, government, and philanthropy across six continents. If you haven't signed the declaration yet, please click here! And share it in your network. |

Talk to Your Money Manager |
|
|
The NAB is following along with the MMMM (Make My Money Matter) movement in the UK and raising awareness about the power of our money. For this purpose, the NAB has facilitated a message for the general public to contact their money managers, to demand their transparency and a shift to impactful investments. Additionally, we provide additional resources such as the Dutch Pension score table (by Eerlijke Geldwijzer) and informative videos (by MMMM). |

Digital Transformation in Agriculture is one of NABs working groups working on tracking and monitoring digital services and solutions for smallholder farmers in developing countries. Wageningen University is in the lead of the project and NAB joined the consortium to provide an investment lens and enhance a link between Agtech service providers and investors. The project will be officially launched in the coming months. More to follow soon… |

One of the first tasks of the NAB in 2021 will be to conduct a diagnostic study of the "State of the Dutch impact investing ecosystem". We would like not only to measure how much the various stakeholders have invested in impact investing and how, but also identify what they see as the main challenges to scale up the sector. The study will consist of an online survey followed by interviews. The NAB is being supported by our strategic partner, KPMG. |

Several of our members have expressed the interest to learn from each other on how to implement the SFDR and the new EU taxonomy, and to discuss how as a sector we can align our standards. We aim to hold a dialogue session in September: please let us know if you are interested and send us your questions so that we can prepare the agenda to fit your needs! |
