MOTHS IN THE ATTIC

celebrating one year of moths in the attic

A year ago, on 10.25.19, we proudly released our debut album. Years of hard work resulted in an ambitious collection of music featuring an array of sounds, instrumentation and talent. So much went into its creation and so many poured their hearts into this project. Songs that began as personal, solitary elegies by Zack Fletcher, blossomed into triumphant hymns with the help of the Moths in the Attic collective.

The album has yielded two singles with music videos ("Forward" and "Chase Away the Ghost") and has received acclaim from national and international indie press outlets:

"Moths in the Attic's cohesive, layered songwriting and engaging instrumentation demand repeated listening." ~ Divide and Conquer

"...one of the most pristinely executed offerings to come out of the regional rock/folk music scenes to date." ~ Garret Tanner (Astral Noize UK contributor)

"Moths in the Attic is a delightful twist on folk-inspired acoustic music." ~ MusiPlug

"...their ingenuity registers as unlimitable." ~ A&R Factory

"Every song gives way to a new experience." ~ Two Story Melody

We wish we could have supported the album with our tour that was canceled due to the pandemic, but we're glad the music is out there nonetheless! We hope it has given you something of value or inspired something within you as it has for us. Most importantly, we thank you for your continued support and for listening. More music is in the works and we can't wait until we have the opportunity to play for you again!

Last year's release show was one of MITA's favorite nights of performing ever! It coincided with Grounds For Thought's 30th anniversary in Bowling Green, OH and featured support from singer-songwriter Drew Joseph. That magical evening and the outpouring of support will not soon be forgotten!

Many long evenings and late nights were spent creating this album. Shout out to all of the amazing collaborators and artists who provided their talents and believed in this project. In addition to the MITA trio (Zack Fletcher, Kevin Jorrey and Michael Williams), the musical soundscapes on this record were created by Jeff Bouck, Ed Croft, Nick and Alina De La Torre, Ariell Fletcher, Devonte Stovall, and Aleks Tengesdal.

The album art came together thanks to images from Elizabeth Stephenson Photography and designs by Jason Wagner (TimberFork Studio). Nick De La Torre, recorded, mixed and engineered the project at DLT Studios, and the final mastering touches were added by Bill Skibbe at Third Man Records.

With YOUR support Moths in the Attic has been able to give donations to local NW Ohio divisions of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (Hancock County, Greater Toledo, and Wood County). MITA encourages everyone to look into their local NAMI services, or support them by donating/volunteering to help promote mental wellness and awareness in your community. MITA will continue to make donations with every physical or digital purchase of the album.
