As always, exciting things are happening at SOUL as we gear up for our long-awaited move to Parents Park. Meet our new leaders and take a peek at the timetable for this project over the next few months.

Parents Park (above) is located on Central Campus near Lee Residence Hall. Construction is expected to begin mid November. The construction will mainly consist of planting select plants and building planter boxes to line the garden for open student use. Throughout planning and early stages of construction, we are prioritizing building trust with our partners and generating proof of concept of the garden. We have big dreams for this garden in the coming years: if you are curious, long term plans are displayed on our website here.

Meet Our Newest Members!

Meet Amelia Weaver, a Super Senior  double majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Amelia joined SOUL because she wanted to garden on campus and build leadership skills for her future career. She has found that and more with this awesome group and is happy to be on the Media focus team during this impactful transition. In her little free time, Amelia enjoys gaming, art, and outdoor adventures.

Introducing Madilyn Rhoney, a Sophomore in Computer Science. Madilyn joined SOUL to learn more about gardening and develop the skills needed to advocate for sustainability in her community. In SOUL Leadership, she will help plan, build, and plant the new garden while educating her peers about the importance of organic living and sustainability. In her free time, Madilyn enjoys volleyball, hiking, and swimming. We are happy to welcome her to SOUL Leadership!

Native pollinators are also excited to maintain the garden alongside our incredible volunteers!
