12 Hours:

A Hostage Family Protest.

It has been a very busy few weeks. And in truth I've been making so much content that I have neglected this newsletter! But no more. I'm back with one of the most biting videos I've created so far.

Capturing the raw resilience of a mother's love, this short documentary delves into the harrowing experience of a woman whose son is held hostage in Gaza. Fueled by desperation and determination, she, alongside her family, takes to the streets in a passionate protest demanding his release. The film unfolds over the course of 12 hours amidst blocked traffic and escalating confrontations. As day the night continues, the family persists, braving relentless rain as they camp overnight in a tent on the highway. Through gripping visuals and emotional interviews, the film chronicles their unwavering quest, showcasing the unbreakable spirit of a mother fighting against the odds.

When I set out to make this film I wanted to fill a void. I found that while a lot has been written on the hostage families, and many have done sit down interviews as well, I have seen very few films that even attempt to drop you in their shoes. That let you get even a glimpse of what it feels like to be a family with a loved one held hostage. I think it's an important perspective and I hope you do as well.
